Not to get to alarmed, but Rubin reports a tidbit that stands out a bit:

David Wright was smacked in the head breaking up a double play in Team USA's win against the Netherlands on Monday night. He appears okay, but Daily News sports writer Anthony McCarron said he got a little dizzy and had watery eyes.

Obviously a side effect from staring directly at Derek Jeter as his intangibles corona shone its brightest.

(Thank Jebus it wasn't Favre's nimbus... dude would be out cold for a month.)

="Benjamin Grimm":5fn32z7f]Hopefully they won't put him on a plane to Denver tomorrow.

Was this game played in Toronto? When's the next time David has to get on an airplane?[/quote:5fn32z7f]

Miami. Finals are in 5 days in LA.

With any luck, the Americans get knocked out tomorrow and David takes a nice, leisurely car ride to PSL.

Rick Sutcliffe remarked that Wright going in like he did to break up that DP was inspired by Jeter - " just by being around Jeter and being exposed to him has brought David to a higher level , he's a wonderful young man....Wright too"
