HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Little drunk men amuse me. Arthur.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I voted for Arthur here. I liked Dudley Moore and Sir John. Now, if you had put Thunderdome up here instead of Road Warrior, well, then, that'd be another thing entirely. Altogether.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Arthur. Though Liza Minelli scares me.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 The Road Warrior was like, a million ttimes better than Thunderdome. Arthur has aged horribly, and Liza Minelli made me puke even when it was fresh.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Never saw either of these movies, never wanted to.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Arthur hasn't aged well - social mores about drinking have changed since the film was made, and it just doesn't hold up well. But I'm not into the Road Warrior films, and the dialogue in Arthur was great. So I'm going for the drunk in this round.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Didn't like either one but went with Road Warrior reluctantly. There have been several of these where both deserved a second round. This is the opposite.
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Mad Max > Road Warrior > Arthur (but not by much)
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 I voted for Arthur, then immediately had buyer's remorse. Is it too late to change?
Guest sharpie Guests Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 This may be the first "upset" judging from the pre-set rankings.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted October 22, 2008 Posted October 22, 2008 It could be a reflection on Mel Gibson.

Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 youse folks are out of your cotten pickin minds.ARTHUR is a dated piece of sentimental claptrap. ROAD WARRIOR will be taught in film schools for generations, like PSYCHO. It is one of the top 5 movies, not only of the 80s, but of the last 30 years.
