Game 1 at 3:30 today
Hamels vs Gallardo

Gallardo was supposed to be their hot-shot rookie until a leg injury shelved him early in the year. He came back only last week and probably can't be counted on for many innings.
That just adds to the list of things that sucked about our inability to force a play-in game; the Brews had no one to pitch that day.
Ben Sheets certainly wasn't and, not suprisingly, has been left off the post-season roster after admitting he was done for the season (never a good thing in your walk year).

Pat the Bat came down with a stiff back after BP yesterday.

Lots of games today , last night when I tuned to TBS to watch the play-in game my wife looked at me and said....how can you watch more baseball after what happened to the Mets....I handed her the remote......I hope I get it back tonight.

Phils go up 2-0 in the 3rd on Utley's double. Hamels perfect thru 3

Just walked in a run to make it 3-0.

Hamels was cruising with like a 2 or 3 hitter and a low pitch-count thru 8 - but of course they pulled him anyway and Lidge put on a couple and threatened to blow it ... but didn't.

He's the Comeback Player of the Inning!

I really hope that at some point Prince Fielder beats Brad Lidge with a blast that makes Pujols' look like a chip shot. I hope it ends Philly's season and puts Lidge back into that funk he was in in Houston.

I'm talking far. I want that ball to cause traffic on I-95.

Near Baltimore.

Brewers are in deep doo-doo.

Down one game to none the last thing they needed in game 2 was an off night from Sabathia but that's exactly what they're getting.
With two outs he couldn't put away Bret Myers batting and eventually walked him after a 10 or 11 pitch AB. Then he walked Rollins to force in a run ... then he gave up a granny to Victorino!!

Brews had Myers on the ropes in the 1st but only got one so it's 5-1 Phils in the 3rd.

Anyone but Burrell, Phuck.

Werth too, Phuck.

And Suppan is not pitching like the 2006 NLCS Jeff F'N Suppan. Geez.

Phillies-Dodgers, who the hell am I supposed to root for?

I mean I could suck it up and keep the NL East alligence, but this isn't the plucky Marlins, or even the former NL West dezines Braves, but the Phucking Phillies!

Burrell again ... c'mon you guys all can't be still glued to the Giants rout?

Its too bad if only because a Hamels-Sabathia shootout for all the marbles would be something to see. But, as I've said several times already this year, F the Brewers. Their inability to beat the Phillies completely undermined the Mets cause this September and they deserve whatever heartbreak they got coming.

Well, putting it that way is more palatable than actively rooting for the Phils.

If this works out as it stands it will be easy for me to hop on Torre's band-
wagon and hope he gets back to The Series while the Yank fans watch and
wound lick.

Phils batted 34 times in the series (8 times each at home and 9 in each road game) and were shut out in 29 of them. But when they did score they had big innings almost each time and their pitching, with the exeption of Moyer, shut the Brews down completely.
