HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Don't strain yourself running to first, Carlos.
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Now our fate rests in the hands of Brian Lawrence, I mean Brandon Knight.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 For Pelfrey to get tagged with a loss like that is just disgusting.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Well that sucked. Four hits.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I don't even know what to say. I wish I could just be done for the year and just stop paying attention. I hate to say it and it hasn't been something that I even really considered until recently, but this past week has been nothing less than a carbon copy of last September.

Guest mario25 Guests Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Except Church got hits last year for the Nationals
HahnSolo Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 That hit and run is pissing me off more and more now that the game is final. Castro on a bad ankle could have gotten to third there. Why the hell is he stopping or looking? That was a textbook hit and run single by Cancel and it was wasted.Yeah, I know Reyes had an infield bouncer next that wouldn't have scored him anyway, but the pitching approach probably changes with a runner on third.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Heading to that SNY Viewing Party tomorrow night on the East Side at Back Page. I can only imagine what the reaction is going to be if the Mets do not win that one.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Hey how about whatever you see, you keep it to yourself?
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Awwwwwwwwww geeez, its going on the blog and I was going to make this nice, nifty post with pictures, maybe even some pretty chicks, at the end of the IGT at some point Thursday.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Buster Olney on Baseball Tonight, describing the Mets struggles against left-handed pitching, sums up the situation by saying "David Wright is struggling."Wright in September: .340/.396/.660 Go hike Cock Mountain, Buster, with the rest of your dumbass show.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 Buster Olney said this morning on Mike & Mike that the Mets would miss the playoffs. We can think that but screw him, the Yankee loving schmuck, for saying that.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2008 Author Posted September 17, 2008 As mentioned, I was at last night's game, and--guess what--it sucked! 1-0 means nothing to stand up and go nuts about the whole night. We enjoyed the pre-game march to the bullpen by the relievers (Parnell with the pink backpack)--a Mets fan near me yelled "Don't blow it tonight!" Feliciano turned toward him and gave him a thumbs up.Jason, from FAFIF, came by and that was very nice. Not many people can say that they've sat with both halves of the FAFIF team at Nationals Park. That might be a record! There really isn't much to say about the game--J. Reyes looks awful (everyone is talking about Wright but look at him, too). I'll be back there tonight.Dcbatgirl reports that she is tempted to talk a little bit of trash, but is holding back because everyone has been so welcoming.
