Guest AG/DC Guests Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 That was a great pick by Howard.I know it's hard when you're down like this, but you have to wait Moyer out and get some guys on base. The Mets are never good at that.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 This is just bad. The offense is terrible right now. Two pitchers in a row making them look like fools and they get to face Hamels tonight. They need to wake up in this game. Score some runs, damnit.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 One hit.All we got is one freakin hit.COME-ON GUYS!HIT THE BALL!
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Hey, anyone mind if I pull down the "1" signaling Pedro's final start?Jayzus already
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Moyer with his 1st K of the game in the 6th. Pitching a one hitter. This just boggles my mind.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 MLB.TV not staying with the commercial-less SNY for the rest of the game.Instead they will try to get me to by a SHARP Aquos TV for the 173rd time this season. They need more than one sponsor.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 One bunt single isn't going to get it done even if Pedro '98 was out there. And this offense has another game tonight. Pedro doesn't.Offense.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 I'd rather watch Guiseppi Franco than these horse fisters on "Loudmouths".
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Moyer bats in the 7th so he will pitch the 7th.Heilman in and he walks Moyer to lead off the inning.Unbelievable.Chris Young pitching a no-no vs. the Brewcrew. In the 8th there.Aaron gets the DP grounder.Nice.Then Victorino hits a soft single to center and thats all for Heilman.Feliciano comes on.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Heilman not waiting for his relief.

Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 I agree the offense owes us a lot more than they've given us. They've been awful lately.OTOH, Pedro has been terrible too.The Mets are ringing up those appearance numbers by using the same complement of guys down by 6, down by 2, tied, up by 1 or up by 6.Bobby (*cough*) Parnell.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Yeah, down by 6 late, I disapprove of using so many bullpen arms in the first game of a DH.Losing the early game will make the late game as much of a must win as we've had in a while.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 It's official. The Mets are looking vulnerable to lefties.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 That single by Easley bounced once on the outfield grass.A small victory.

Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Just getting here. AHHHHHHHH. AHHHHHHHHHHH. What, we can't score a single run against these punks?
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Bullpen is giving us the kind of effort that we might have needed more in the nightcap.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 I thought Victorino caught that ball.In fact, I subsequently thought that when it bounced toward Golson, it was still in the air and would have been an out had Golson come up with it.Runs. on. the. board.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Suddenly, it's Phillie's outfielders playing like suckers.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Evans doubles and Wright drives him in. Nice.Beltran drives in Wright with a double and gets to third on an errant relay throw.Thats what we need.Evans has had some really nice at bats this game.He alone has forced the Phillie pitchers to throw a total of 28 pitches.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Heading to Shea for the night cap. Hopefully that was a "portent" of things to come tonight. And the ninth this afternoon.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Wright has to stop playing like Alex Rodriguez and more like, well, my derisive nickname around here. He has to be that type of player that all he does well is beat you.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 The Mets cutting the lead to four runs makes Jerry more conservative.

Even has his own charity organization, so why not do the total package and stop coming up small in the big spots, and doing the "ARod" numbers in moments that "don't matter."
