You show some anger at Mantle being passed by essentially a DH, you will now be referred to as "Mantle" by me going forward!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Thome's been a full-time DH for 3 years now (since his trade to Chicago) but I don't know that there's any reason why he couldn't play the field if the DH didn't exist.I mean I'm all for killing that rule but I'm not going to take anything away from Thome just because of it. If Mantle had taken better care of himself maybe he would have lasted a while longer and made himself tougher to catch.
