Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Big K ends it, but they scare me.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2008 Author Posted August 30, 2008 There would have been a whole lot less drama in that inning - not to mention two fewer pitchers used - if Pelfrey had gotten the call on that 2-2 pitch to Hanley.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Well there you go. We really have to be thinking about bullpeners with the best chance of helping the team win over the next few weeks.

Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Jacobs kills us time and again.Would have liked to see them bring up Al Reyes so we can at least use him in the post-season should we get there. I just can't see Sanchez helping us.

If Al Reyes/Rincon need a promotion before 9/1 to be eligible than Sanchez has to be odd man out, doesn't he?Next year we can find lightning in some other bottle.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Yeah I had the sound down earlier. What was the deal with Murph's caught stealing? Looked like a dumb idea.

Murphy is on...
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Let's Go Mets!(I hate you, Duaner.)
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2008 Author Posted August 30, 2008 The guess is that it was a missed H-&-R (by either the batter or runner).Seemed dumb to steal w/1 out and the pitcher on deck.If Jerry was thinking about Lindstrom here as soon as he sent up the RH PH it was probably a smart move using the fastball hitting Easley over the off-speed hitting Tatis.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Easley and Reyes fly out.Heilman up to pitch to the top of the order here in the 9th. I have nervous.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2008 Author Posted August 30, 2008 Bullpen battles suck when you're on the road ... and when your bullpen sucks.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 The bullpen is killing this team. I don't have faith in the reliability of anyone out there right now.
Guest KC Guests Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 (edited) I know everyone loves to blame the pen, but this team's offense takesway too many four, five, six, inning snoozes. Edited August 30, 2008 by Guest
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2008 Author Posted August 30, 2008 (edited) Heilman: 0 runs, 3 hits & 18 Ks in 12 innings this year agin Florida Edited August 30, 2008 by Guest
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 O has to do more too.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Frayed Knot wrote:Heilman: 0 runs, 3 hits & 18 Ks in 12 innings this year agin FloridaIn danger now. Though tuff ball 4 call.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2008 Author Posted August 30, 2008 That call at 3rd could have gone either way.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Here we go again with the Rogers Gambit.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 i'd have pitched to Jacobs who strikes out a TON
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2008 Author Posted August 30, 2008 Jeez, at least make them get a hit to win the game!!
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Nymr83 wrote:i'd have pitched to Jacobs who strikes out a TONof course that doesnt matter when you're just gonna walk the next guy anyway, throw a fucking strike
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Heilman wasn't throwing strikes.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 F U Heilman, and F U Omar for giving us this bullpen.
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 I think the Rogers strategy sucks ass.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 We don't have the talent to pull it off I guess.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 Brutal. Absolutely brutal.
