I Sing of Heilman

Listen, firstly, as a Met, he's got to suffer through his team's crumbling lead, then he's held out of the game until the rest of the suckers are used up, he probably got booed by Mets fans in Philly when he entered, he immediately gives up a double. Then he gets squeezed.

Through all of these demoralizing kicks to the teeth, he starts making creepy mean faces and grinds it out for three innings and over 50 pitches, his only safety net an old pair of stockings named Scott Schoeneweis (no offense).

Plus he rediscovers faith in getting people with the change along the way.

He struggled almost the whole time, and gave up some long outs, but his next outing should be very interesting. He may be the most important Met right now, in the best position to buy back this season. Beltran too.

I like Heilman. I think he has gotten a bad rap. Up until this year. This year he's been bad.

That doesn't mean that the boo-birds aren't morons.

Heilman hasn't always had the mean face while he's pitching.

I think he developed it when there was talk of him being the closer before Wagner was signed.

Heck, he was about the only one NOT to blame for Tuesday night.

Speaking of Aaron the starter - he threw 60 pitches.
That's not too far from the number of pitches he might throw in a first test start. (Yeah, I know. It was in three innings. Don't dazzle me with logic, I'm on a roll)
Why not give him the chance to start?

Well shoot, Mr. soup I get driven by a Ford F150 pickup, round about a 1988. It's sea green and white. I kinda picked it to match my wife Molly's eyes.
It does have a shadow when the sun's out, is that what you mean?
