Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Wigginton and Matsui, seems like old times. I hope Pedro brings his A game today. The Mets need to put and end to their recent little stumble and get back on track. They need a series win and taking the opener would be a nice start.
Guest KC Guests Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I don't believe that Pedro has an A game, I'd be happy with a B- or C+ andtake the flak for if I'm wrong. If he comes out and stinks up the joint, I hope he retires.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I guess I didn't phrase that properly. I was just hoping that Pedro the best of what he has left. I think Pedro still has an 'A' game. It's just that his present 'A' game is a poor imitation of what once passed as his 'B' or 'B-" game.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Reyes singles and Chavez sac bunts him to second. Wright singles Reyes home with the opening run.The Sacrifice bunt actually worked this time, but I still don't like it. The Mets still seem to regard the second hitters main job as simply moving Reyes along if he gets on. Jerry seems to be emulating WWSB fairly often.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 AWWWWWWWWWWWWW $#()#*%)($#&()&*)($# $(#*&%($#&%(*$#Matsui hit 3 homers so far this year?
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 3 quick grounders, so maybe that is a good sign right there.

He had as much a chance to beat that bunt out as he did driving the ball to the outfield for a hit, if not more.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Hey Gary, ever thought that maybe Beltran did a ton of stuff with the Houston community, and made it seem that he just might have WANTED to be an Astro afterward?Look into things instead of blindly saying "I don't get it."To say nothing about the whole "Rest of the Nation vs. New York City" aspect.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Gary Cohen was wondering why Astro fans have such hatred towards Carlos Beltran, especially since he was just a rent-a-player.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Another note to Mr. Cohen, the Mets are very much still doing bobblehead giveaways, Sunday Aug. 10th is Billy Wagner BOBBLEHEAD DAY! (Get your jokes ready)Also Johan Santana is due to get one in September (again, get those jokes ready)And I'm surprised Gary didn't forget the most annoying bobblehead of all, last year's Endy Chavez "Catch" bobblehead that was sponsored by AIG (who's ad Endy made the catch in front of), as well as a Paul Lo Duca one.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Someone get me a Lance Berkman bobblehead so I can paint my name over his.And someone go on August 6 and get me a Mets baseball card pack.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Steve I checked and I found he MFY game on channel 9 tonight.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I like this Tatis kid. Gonna be a good player.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Take it easy there Irish Head!Wolfie, sadly I doubt there are going to be any "special" cards in that pack, all the images shown on screen look like they are from the actual set, or either of the 14 card or 55 card Met set.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Doesn't mean I can't have one. Go to the game and send me a pack. You know, these little dink and dunk hits just drive you crazy... unless they're for your team, in which case they're awesome.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Nice rally we got going! Now have to get Pedro from giving up homers to the least likely players!
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I love multiple consecutive 2-out singles!
Guest KC Guests Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 SJR: Look into things instead of blindly saying "I don't get it."<<<Don't look into things instead and mutely* say, "I don't get it."*keyboard wise

He had as much a chance to beat that bunt out as he did driving the ball to the outfield for a hit, if not more."Thanks for the information. That's one of the problems of "watching" most Mets games via Gameday. I seldom get to actually see the action. Sorry for falsely accusing Jerry Manuel of acting like WWSB.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Ah, for fuck's sake, Pedro, cut it out with the fucking home runs.
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Hamels getting lit up again: 3 IP, 4 ER, 6 H, 1 BB, 49 pitches.
Guest KC Guests Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 RD: I guess I didn't phrase that properly. I was just hoping that Pedro the best of what he has left.I knew what you meant, I didn't phrase my response properly.I'm frustrated thinking the Mets believe that he can contribute in a large way.
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Guess the bloops go the other way, too. Pedro at 70 pitches through 3 2/3, looks like a whole lotta bullpen again.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 For a major league rehab Pedro is doing OK.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 But for major league pitching, not so much.
Guest KC Guests Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I'm just trying to not rag on him, tired of seeing him come back and fail.
