batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I'm seeing Red here, what with this new two game losing streak against the Reds and the newly announced Citi Field ticket prices.[u:115913b976]The Lineups[/u:115913b976]Mets1. Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I don't begrudge Tatis getting a day off, but Marlon Anderson getting the start in left field? Come on!
batmagadanleadoff Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2008 Author Posted July 20, 2008 Maybe Manuel wanted a few more lefties in the lineup than usual. Easley's out, too. Volquez is virtually unhittable against righties this year and is striking out righties at a rate of better than one out of three batters.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 Doesn't make sense then that he'd wait until today to start Castro and sit The Schneid.Tatis and Easley are both playing like they could use an offday (or two).
Guest KC Guests Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 Beltran with a nice AB in the first and a whole new approach from yesterdayfighting stuff off and actually swinging. All is forgiven, until later, we're fickle that way.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 Yabbut, Anderson returns to the shit list.Woulda coulda shoula had more there
Guest KC Guests Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I hope settling for one and leaving the bases loaded doesn't come back to bite us in the boo-boo, but the Mets are hitting Boy Wonder.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 Those darn Phils are up 2-0 in the 3rd.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 Come on team. Volquez doesn't appear to have his best stuff right now. The Mets need to take advantage and try to knock him out of the game before he finds himself.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 In the first two innings, the Mets have 4 singles, 2 walks, a stolen base, and a wild pitch by Volquez thrown in for good measure, yet they have only scored one run. I'm afraid the Mets failure to cash in when they've had these early opportunities is likely going to haunt them later in the game.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 A home run by Adam Dunn leading off the Reds second inning and just like that it's a tie ball game.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 That darn Delgado's been raykin!2fer2 with a double.Fish score, 2-1 Phils in Florida.Cole Hamels pitching there in the 4th.

Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 Brandon Phillips is something bordering ridiculous.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 Let's sneak Brandon Phillips onto the plane on the way out tonight and say he's Marlon Anderson.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 You calling Castro on Monkey? In all it's 3 runs in 3 innings off one of the tougher young pitchers in baseball and we've run his pitch count way up in the process.Could have been better but I'll take that kind of start.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 ="OlerudOwned"]Brandon Phillips is something bordering ridiculous.Gary claiming he's never seen that backhand flip to 1st before.Does he not remember Robbie Alomar ... or is he only saying he's never seen it done succesfully before?

Guest AG/DC Guests Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 That's Mookie's record. Obliterated by a child.
Guest KC Guests Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 Speaking of never seeing something, I don't think I ever saw anyone havea ball bounce in front of them for a ground rule double quite like that playto Marlon. Marlon's due for something good to happen today.
