Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Nice job PF!Billy vs Jeter, ARod, Posada in the 9th.Ummm, how 'bout around 6 runs before we get there?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 I guess Manual preferred a lefty PH against one of the Yanqui RH relievers instead of Tatis so no double-switch ... although I suspect if Willie did the same he'd get criticized for not knowing HOW.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Never in doubt!(yeah suuuuuure)

G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 I hereby dedicate the final win by the Mets over the MFYs in the history of Shea Stadium to Mets Guy in Michigan who was in my thoughts when Billy closed the deal. Through the good graces of Met Fairy, I was at the game with a fairly magical group: my wife getting her first SS game; my friend Richie who was with me for Matt Franco; and my friend Rob who had an MGIM problem dating back to 1998 where Mets-MFYs games were concerned. He and I saw them lose the first one (Rojas v. O'Neill), saw them lose at MFYS II in 2000 (13-5), he saw them lose yesterday and there were probably some others in between. It was good to watch the monkey crumble off his back. For Rob, for Dave (MGIM), for all of us. Good job Metsies.
Guest themetfairy Guests Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 I'm glad you brought the good Karma to the game today. I knew that it was important to make sure that the seats went to worthy Mets fans

Guest KC Guests Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 I ain't throwing chum into the water, I'm being the shark. And besides, Jeets knows I can be a dick from time to time.Different thing from what you're referring to entirely, AG - and I didn't mean all that much by it at the time for you to throw it in my face.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 Of course. I don't mean nothing either.Ugh, chum in the face.

Bright side of course IS that the Phillies aren't running away with the division, so a great showing this weekend and the Metsies should be in business headed towards the AS break.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted June 29, 2008 Posted June 29, 2008 ="Frayed Knot"]="Zvon"]Ill consider this a 4 game series and I'm happy with the split.I wanted 3 this weekend -- but overall I consider this a 6-game series and am happy with the 4 of 6I'm kinda dissatisfied myself. Four games against the MFYs; in three of them we face Geise, Ponson and Rasner; and in the fourth we face Pettitte but oppose him with Johan F. Santana. Jeez, we coulda had all 4.(John Sterling) Well Suzyn, that's baseball! As soon as somebody tells you they have it all figured out, they don't! Thuh-uhhhhh pitch... (/John Sterling)
