Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Hugeness from Carlos IINow let's step on their freakin necks!!
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Whenever Nixon steps to the plate, I find myself thinking he's Brian Schneider.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Your nose is getting better, Ben. Hopefully, the Delgado homer is coming later today and you're just picking it up early.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Inning ends with the Mets scoring three. Not too shabby!I'd like to see Pelfrey pitch a quick inning here so that he can also pitch the sixth. The more innings we can safely get from him today the better. If he can go six, given his early struggles, I'd be delighted.
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Game day put up Beltran's FC. That screw up was all Jeter.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 With one out, a bad-hop single by Betamit.
Guest 86-Dreamer Guests Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 why can't Marlon run to first on that slow roller? I'd like to see the gangsta sit him down for that.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Oops, scratch that: It's an error on Castillo.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 The blue caps and the grey uniforms really do look good!87 pitches for Pelfrey so far, with two out in the fifth.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Capt. Intangibles never screws up. It must have been bad camera work by MLB.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 That would have been your quick inning except for the Castillo error.I remember all Yanqui infield errors in an earlier Subway Series getting blamed on the condition of the Shea infield. MFYs don't make errors otherwise I guess and shirley this error was all Castillo's fault not the field.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Yeah, so much for the easy inning. Now Jeter's up with two on and two out.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 And after a bunch of foul balls, Pelfrey gets Jeter to ground easily to Delgado.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 But ... but ... but ... Jeter ALWAYS comes through against the Mets! That's probably Pelfrey's last batter.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Great job by Pelfrey. I know it's a double-header, but I think I would tell him to hit the showers if I were Jerry.
Guest attgig Guests Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 pounding the zone with fastball after fastball. Great job Pelfrey.
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Quick- who's having a better year at the plate, Jeter or Castillo?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Centerfield wrote:Great job by Pelfrey. Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 (edited) Castillo with a chance to atone for his error last inning. The Mets need to get Wright and Beltran a shot at driving in some more runs. Edited June 27, 2008 by Guest
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Buncha leftys coming up next inning too - starting with Abreu leading off.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Jeter would have turned that double play if not for the field conditions at Shea. It's a disgrace.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 I like the Yankees going to their pen to summon a guy with a 5.35 ERA here. Hopefully, Wright will burn him.
Guest Vince Coleman Firecracker Guests Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Jeter .286/.345/.394/ 99 OPS+/ 3.5 WARP3/ 7 WSCastillo .254/.356/.329(!)/ 86 OPS+/ 3.8 WARP3/ 7 WSWell, it looks like Jeter's having a better year, but it's pretty close when you consider their overall games.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Wright delivers the RBI single. Now knock this chump out Carlos.
Guest attgig Guests Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 let's see it delgado. redeem right here.
