They should just do a day/night doubleheader on Wednesday. In August, they may very well wish they had that off day.

However, a rescheduled game can be inserted in the schedule even if the number of consecutives days with games exceeds 18. Aaron Heilman, the Mets' player rep, said playing Aug. 11 was "the best option we were given." He had to sign off on it. But, as he said, "We have to authorize it, but we have only suggestive power."

Seems to me that the club should be working with the players on shit like this , everyone needs a day off.

It's easier for them to make money off of an August game than it is to make money off of a Pirates doubleheader in cold, damp April...money is more important than logic...
