Guest AG/DC Guests Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 This man Chico is the best pitcher we face in this series. He's a nibbler and a dribbler and you've got to wait his ass out. He lsot 1-0 last time out. Him and Maine is an interesting matchup. both are potential comers.David Wright vs. lefties so far: .467 / .529 / .867 // 1.396. Yum.

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I agree with KC's suggestion from yesterday that the date ought to be included in the IGT thread title.
Farmer Ted Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Yet another Chico and the Maine matchup fo sho. It reminds of a few years back when Glavine was with the Braves the first go-round. Bastard would pitch every Sunday game I went to.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Chico is 2-2 vs. the Mets, with a 6.20 ERA. All of his appearences vs. the Mets came in 2007, and all were as a starting pitcher. He didn't oppose John Maine in any of the four starts:Vs. Oliver Perez, April 27Vs. Tom Glavine, August 17Vs. Mike Pelfrey, September 19Vs. Mike Pelfrey, September 24

I bet they were probables for 4/15 last season and got rained out.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I do seem to remember that.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I'm expecting a big game from Maine tonight , seven solid at least.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Church of the Poison Mind ties this one up.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Big Reyes moment with two on and two out and...
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 It's nice he worked the count at least. Maybe the O can get to Chico in the next inning as a result.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I predict that Keith will receive much hate mail from the residents of the state of Maine.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I'm under a Keith blackout. What did he say this time.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Some fans are posting images of the state of Maine instead of K's for each of John Maine's strikeouts. They got to talking about Maine, and Keith said dismissively that after the Revolution the British gave Maine to the US because they didn't want it.
Guest Triple Dee Guests Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 ...and that Maine comprises mostly of moose.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Rats! HRRats! Single.Rats! Extra base.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 What happened to spring training John Maine?
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Nice hustle on the IF single by Castillo.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I really, really like Castillo hitting eighth. Not that I'm down on his ability, I just think he's a much better option at #8 than Schneid. He's cleared the pitcher twice tonight and if he ever got on with less than 2 outs, he's a better runner than Schneid with the pitcher batting.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Agree on Castillo hitting 8th.I thought Maine just didn't have it tonight, but then he comes back with a 1-2-3 inning all on ground balls just like that. Top of the order for the Mets. Lets hit some Chico.
Guest AG/DC Guests Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 I like the Zok!We're back in the tie. Let's keep the pressure on.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Milledge spilledge as he misses the base hit.
