Could the government of Singapore demand naming rights to Citi Field after this?

NEW YORK (AP) -- Citigroup Inc. is expected to announce thousands of job cuts after posting dismal results for the fourth quarter, when the bank's mortgage-riddled portfolio lost billions of dollars in value.

Citigroup swung to a loss of nearly $10 billion in the fourth quarter as it took a write-down of $18.1 billion for bad bets related to the mortgage industry, the bank said on Tuesday.

On the hunt for cash, the nation's largest bank said Tuesday it also got a $12.5 billion investment from outside investors, including $6.88 billion from the Government of Singapore Investment Corp.

I've been hoping for this , if there is a name change then rival fans can't be calling it "shitty field", who cares how many jobs are lost.

I guess that means fans and players can no longer chew gum or tobacco at the stadium, lest they be caned.

I've seen some people at ball games that I would most definitely like to see caned.

But especially the ones who customize a jersey by using the wrong lettering. Shudder.

I'd love nothing more than to have Citigroup give back the naming rights. I'd like to think that we really don't need to give the naming rights away. We've done all right for 46 years without a corporate stadium name.

They didn't give them away. And they certainly won't be given back.

They sold them for a tremendous amount. They're a tremendous corporate asset.

Those guys who decide they want to stand up during a pivotal moment during a game and make that upward gesture with their arms to make everyone else stand up... They deserve to be caned.
