NLCS Rooting interest poll: Rockies vs. Diamondbacks

So with the DBacks beating the Cubs and the Rockies doing the same against the Phillies, both in 3 game sweeps, the 2007 NLCS is now set.

The Diamondbacks make their second ever appearance, the other of course was in 2001, where they beat the Braves in 5 games in route to the World Championship.

The 2007 NLDS marks the first postseason series win for the Rockies, therefore this is their first appearance in the NLCS.

Also on the 28th of September the Diamondbacks clinched a postseason birth by beating the Rockies. It has turned out to be the only Rockie loss since the 15th of September, for a remarkable 17-1 stretch.

I got nothing against Arizona, but I fail to see how one can root for them unless they are actually a dimondbacks fan or a colorado hater (does the latter even exist?).

I like the youthful exuberance of both teams...and would like either one to win the World Series over the same old farts that are always in the playoffs in the AL (with the exception of the seriously, I just used a racist word when I really meant "Guardians")...however, no knock on the D'Backs, but at this point of their careers, I think that the Rox match up better against the AL than the D'Backs do...and for that simply reason and my opinion that the Rox have a more complete pitching staff, I'd rather see the Rox advance...

one thing that could be interesting is how the D'Backs would approach the DH rule if they happen to make it into the World Series...

Pitcher Micah Owings is one of the D'Backs best sluggers...in only 60 at bats, Micah has 7 doubles; 1 triple; 4 homeruns; 9 runs and 15 RBI...he's got a .333 batting average; a .683 slugging percentage; and a 1.033 OPS...would it make sense for him to DH every game in the AL? Has a pitcher ever served as a DH in every WS game in an AL park before?

and I don't think that his '07 offense is a fluke...in his final 2 NCAA seasons, he had 33 doubles; 3 triples; 33 HRs; 126 runs scored; and 127 RBI in 472 at bats...not too shabby for a pitcher...

Plus Bob Apodaca has done a pretty decent job as a pitching coach...guiding a pretty respectable bullpen...only 2 NL bullpens allowed fewer walks and only 4 NL bullpens allowed fewer HRs, which may not be great but this is the same team that could have a slugfest with anyone a couple years ago, but at the same time couldn't contain the opponent's offense at all...they had 7 relievers with at least 48 innings pitched and an ERA under 4.00 (Mets had 3 relievers that fit that criteria)...

Aw, somebody has to root for the Diamondbacks. This is not an anti-Rockies vote by any means, just an appreciation for the sound way Arizona has played ball all year, persevering without Orlando Hudson and making me forget they're paying Randy Johnson. Also, I picked a Snakes-Tribe World Series, so I may as well root for myself to be right.

Colorado = Denver, Denver = beat Jets in AFC championship game in January 1999. I have to admit that's a long way to reach for some reason not to be smitten by the Rockies at the moment, but it occurred to me this morning.

Plus seeing those wacky red uniforms and that wacky Chase Field takes me back to that happy winning streak we put together in the desert from '04 to '07. The Rockies, on the other hand, stomped all over us at Coors in July. Who knew it was because they were actually better than us?
