bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 From Delcos. Note Gomez in the lineup which means that we'll see if Lastings' outburst hurts the team. I'm surprised that Willie is going with the rookie over the vet, Shawn Green, even though it would mean a lefty-lefty match-up.METSSS Jose Reyes2B Luis Castillo3B David WrightCF Carlos BeltranLF Moises Alou1B Carlos DelgadoC Paul Lo DucaRF Carlos GomezP John Maine
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Maine needs to get his shit together TODAY.If he does, the Mets should have little trouble winning. If he doesn't, it's going to be a slugfest, and who knows who'll end up on top.Phillies today have a lopsided pitching matchup in their favor.Today's game is pretty darn important. (As they've all been lately.)
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Author Posted September 23, 2007 Humber goes Wednesday? Nothing against Humber but that's an interesting time for him to reappear. Pedro pitched on Friday so Wednesday should be his turn. I know that they want to give him an extra day of rest but the team doesn't have that luxury.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 From Newsday:]Willie Randolph hinted yesterday that Pedro Martinez could come back on regular rest to start Wednesday.Unless the Mets open up a four-game lead by Wednesday morning, I think Pedro has to pitch that game.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Author Posted September 23, 2007 I agree. Delcos has WR with the Humber news from this morning.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 That Phils/Nats game, now with Washington in the lead 1-0, will be the last baseball game ever at RFK Stadium.*Salute
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 David's got his average up to .321.
Guest holychicken Guests Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Looks like Maine is throwing some strikes. I like that.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 OH!Thank you Mr. Alou.Great catch.*wipes brow
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 1-1, middle 5th in the WAS-PHI game. Had to bring in 2 relievers to get out of the inning, one walked Howard to load the bases, the second got Rowand to ground out to end it.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Zvon - "That Phils/Nats game, now with Washington in the lead 1-0, will be the last baseball game ever at RFK Stadium."The Nationals owe it to their fans to close out their time at RFK on a winning note. Come on Nationals!
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 After three innings in Miami, it's the Fish leading the Mets by a score of 2-0. The Mets needs to get their offense going.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Author Posted September 23, 2007 Philadelphia gets a gift run to take the lead, 2-1.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Business at hand:Mets down 2-0. Beltran has balls.
Guest martin Guests Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 i have read a couple times that beltran is the most efficient base runner who ever lived, according to some numbers somewhere. he isnt hurting his case with that move there.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Delgado strikes out swinging. The Mets will need a two out hit from LoDuca to score Beltran.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Paul LoDuca is my hero.Tie game.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 LoDuca ties it up with a big Kaboom!!!!
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Author Posted September 23, 2007 Washington ties it.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Austin Kearns RBI single just tied up the WAS-PHI game.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Author Posted September 23, 2007 Zvon--All of them are great but incorporating KABOOM onto a sign is outstanding.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Washington takes the lead on a HBP with the bases loaded.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 I like Mr. Wrights plan.Make em run for their outs.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Ryan Howard tied Adam Dunn's record for most strikeouts in a season with his 195th whiff today.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Did Howie say Carlos Muniz in #8?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Overheard in the Marlin booth:"Roger Clemens has said on record that if he doesn't go in (to the Hall of Fame) as a Yankee, he's not showing up.""...? Yeah, right."
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 Not sure Seo.Nats still leading in the 8th by a run.I guess this will be Maine's last inning....If he gets through it.Hermida with a seeing eye grounder up the middle, that makes him 3 for 3.Mets have Feliciano and Sosa up in the pen.
