bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 My guesses are predicated on the theory that you don't want too many players clogging up the locker room and dugout of a pennant contender:David NewhanAlomar, Jr. (assuming he is sent down when LoDuca is activated)Tatis (not on 40 man roster)Anderson HernandezChip Ambres (not on 40 man roster)Mike PelfreyWillie Collazzo (not on 40 man roster)Jon Adkins (not on 40 man roster)Joe SmithDave Williams (not on 40 man roster).10 is probably too many and the notes about the 40 man roster likely makes some of the above incorrect.http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?t=t_ros&did=milb&cid=588
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Newhan, Anderson Hernandez and Endy Chavez. I suspect they keep 3 but not 4 catchers around.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 I think you're right on the two pitchers, Pelfrey and Smith. The only way they add Adkins or Williams is if someone gets hurt and they have to.I agree with gwreck also on the other three guys, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them keep Alomar around.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 (edited) Burgos and Humber may well get called up also.Hernandez would have a role. Probably not Ambres, though.Valentin will also be added, unless he doesn't get a good med report. Edited August 26, 2007 by Guest
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Anyone know when Duaner Sanchez is supposed to come back?
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 What about Carlos Gomez?
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 I'd imagine that once Gomez is healthy, he'll be back. Completely forgot about Humber and Burgos.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 i forgot Sanchez too, is he done for the year?
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Last I heard he was out 3-5 months, but that was in March.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Doubtful is a nice way of putting it.Duaner hasn't pitched at all in competition and, even if he were suddenly ready to start, the minor leagues are ending in about a week so he's not going to get a chance to work up to a return.iow, see ya in February
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 I don't believe he's signed for next year that really doesn't matter since he's not yet a 6-year player and is therefore under NYM control if they want to keep him.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 As per Metsblog's "Mets Minor League Report"-Joe Smith has tendinitis in hs elbow and has not pitched in 6 days;-Ambiorix Burgos "felt something wrong in his elbow" and was removed from his last appearance Friday;-Mike Pelfrey missed his last start due to fatigue.
