Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 "Radio team couldn't make enough of Wagner not being up in the ninth"TV crew - sideline reporter Ken Rosenthal specifically - reported that Wagner feels spent from the last few outings and is getting the day off.So it's backup closer Aaron Heilman to the rescue.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Heilman on for the 9th.Wagner has pitched in 2 of the last 3 and 3 of the last 5... i'm suprised he is unavailable.edit- and yeah, bringing him in to a 4 run game last night was pointless

Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 One at-bat does not a season make. But all I want is big playoff hits. He can go oh for September as long as October is ok.Cuz let's face it. The Braves and Phillies suck.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Thought McCarver missed a golden opportunity in the early going when Kenny Albert asked who his "nicest teammate ever" had been (after such a complement was bestowed on Jeff Conine by Moises Alou).T-Mac named a few guys, but left off that list was his play-by-play partner of 16 years (and the third inning), Ralph Kiner.Good to see/hear him again, nonetheless.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 McCarver also declared the Mets the "base stealingest" team in the bigs.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 San Diego defeated the Phillies by a score of 4-3. All of the Padres runs were the result of solo home runs (Cameron, Bradley, Kouzmanoff, and Sledge). The Cardinals just finished off the Braves by a score 5-4. Jason Isringhausen struck out Andruw Jones with runners on second and third to end the game. The Mets positions seems to be improving by the day.
