nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Castro guns out a runner taking too big a lead off 3rd base. i really like this guy.
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Castro left the game with a bad back, ny.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Good pitch to throw, good throw, not in time.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 What I wouldn't give for a lopsided laugher by the Mets. I'm starting to doubt we''ll enjoy another of them this season.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I'd like to give a few opposing starting pitchers a short workday myself.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 That would certainly be a good start to the "laugher" I desire.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Good Lord that old sunnavabitch can hit!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Lead me to the promised land, Moises. And keep pitching him in, folks.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Mets hold a 5-4 lead going to the seventh inning stretch. I'm probably asking for a miracle, but a few insurance runs would be great. How soon before Wright or Alou bat again?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 OK, two scoreless by Sosa, the hot hand.Which of the cold hands is next?
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Edgy -"Which of the cold hands is next?"Please, please, please, Willie anyone but Mota.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I'm not sure that's the right call to send to your bullpen coach.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Well, Heilman, who had as bad a night as Mota plus threw about 35 pitches in his lone inning of work, is the one warming up.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Wow. Apparently Sosa will come out for a third inning as Willie allows him to hit for himself.Upon edit: Missed Easley pinch-hitting for Sosa on Gameday. I thought Willie had lost his mind there for a moment.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I caught my mistake too late. I was flipping between computer screens and I'm pretty sure I saw Sosa's picture when they were flashing the Strikeout for DeFelice. Computer game casts can be a maddening experience sometimes.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 My eyes may not have been playing tricks on me as now Gameday is reprting that Dan Uggla is making a defensive switch from secondbase to secondbase while Amazega switches from firstbase to firstbase.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 That part is correct, they did that as part of a double-switch with the pitcher change.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 I figured out there was a double switch with Uggla entering the game to hit in the pitcher's spot, but the way Gameday had it written made virtually no sense. They have since corrected it to actually make sense.Meanwhile, the Mets strand two and fail to score any insurance runs.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 For those of you scoring at home (or even if you're alone):Heilman in - hitting 2nd in the order.Castillo in - hitting 9th replacing Gotay
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Big day for the Violent Femmes. We get "Blister in the Sun" and "Gone Daddy Gone" in one day.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Uggla's a nice hitter but a bad 2nd baseman. He had a ton of time to make that play.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Home town scoring has turned two Marlin errors into Met hits.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 If there wasn't a duck on third, I'd let Heilman hit.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Jose Reyes, scoring -- standing up -- from first -- on a ground ball to second.
