Guest holychicken Guests Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 I haven't gotten to watch many games recently because my stolen . . .err. . .I mean FREE cable hasn't been working.I know lastings has been hitting the ball, but how has his defense looked? I have seen some funky routes to the ball. . . but has it at least been decent?
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 He's alright, of course we'd rather him being in a corner but he's doing what'sneeded from him and has been a big lift in other areas.Of course I sound like Ed Coleman but I do that a lot less than I'm generallyaccused of in these parts so I'll let my hair down tonight.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 "Of course I sound like Ed Coleman "No question about it.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 I think Lastings has been fine. His throwing decisions are about as bad as you can make, but otherwise, he looks good even IMO.Paul "I'll Be In There" LoDuca is probably stewing in a corner somewhere.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Castillo begins his Met tenure with a flyout on the 2-0 pitch.
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 What would be really sick, something people would talk about forever, isthat Glavine threw the Mets first no hitter while winning his 300th.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Do I have this right? The Mets bench for the night is LoDuca, Marlon, DeFelice, Newhan, Gotay? Only 1 of the 5 has been on the team all season.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Serious Wifey Watch material coming from SNY.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Toni Darling was mugged after Game 4 at Fenway?!And Kevin Mitchell tried to find the guy who did it?!Holy SHIT?!
Guest Kid Carsey Guests Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Loved Gary's line, "good thing he didn't find him."(paraphrasing what Cohen said of Mitchell looking for the mugger)((there's a dead word ... mugger, mugged, mugging))
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 One might think with all the important baseball on tonight, ESP-bleepin-N might have something better than World Series of Poker on. Grrrrr.Luckily I can listen along on MLB.com

Never mentioned that AMAZING detail before.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Oh stop.Who was promoted with Beltran's DLing?
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Castillo: Second base totally his thing twice already tonight.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Drop in on SNY of Maddux interview in which Greg refers to Tom as "Glavine". Seems a little cold.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Jeff Suppan: Baserunner notwithstanding, still an unnecessary force for evil on the planet.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Reyes doubles.Castillo bunts.Wright singles.And thus the JLD Connection was born.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 We're witnessing history here tonight, folks.Moises Alou is approaching his 300th minute without an apparent injury.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Alou missed almost 2-1/2 months and is within 15 RBI of Green.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Knowing about the urine thing, did the other players give him high-fives after the sac fly?
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Play at the plate...yeah, Alou's still 15 behind Green.

Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 We've had way too many guys gunned at home this year but that wasn't a dumb call. Nice play by the bad guys.Gary sure was pleased that the Mets "took what the Brewers gave them" but had we not given them an out, we might be up by more than 1 (or may not. I can't kill them for the sacbunt either, since it worked). What I'd like to see is Glavine protect what his mates gave him.
