8) Once claimed to have gotten in trouble as a fan/vendor by paying so much attention to a game that he handed a patron a hot dog bun with just mustard on it.

Why was I thinking he was a catcher?

Is usually one of the players I get in the Song Parody Contest. I pass on him every time.

Ahhh.. hot dog!

Wella, wella, well I just got into Shea today
Same place that I earned my pay
Selling food in section 304
Tigers took me in the draft
My ERA, five and a half!
Now I'm where the offense cannot score

Something 'bout this team is wrong
No more Seaver, no more Kong
But I've got a job and a house out in Bay Shore
A favorite son, I'm such a smash
They're calling me The Flushing Flash
And I'll never sell a hot dog any more

Now my fastball's gone I don't know what to do
The Mets just traded me right out the door
And if I'm ever traded back I know one thing for sure
I'm gonna take the field in Andy Hassler's 44

I sold hot dogs at seventeen
Returned a man to Shea's sweet green
Though few New Yorkers darkened Grant's Tomb's door
But Flushing town, I loved it all
Beneath the sign that said "U-haul"
So I pitched on, always hangin' round for more

Now my fastball's gone I don't know what to do
The Mets just traded me right out the door
And if I'm ever traded back I know one thing for sure
I'm gonna take the field in Andy Hassler's 44

Muni Stadium, dump of dumps
Cleveland fans they must be chumps
But I soldiered on and hoped for something more
You'll never take my Metly pride
I'll take my chances as a Tide
I guess I'm just a Shea guy at my core

I guess I'm just a Shea guy at my core!

16) Starting pitcher on the All-Ed Mets team (we're short on outfielders)

SP Glynn, Lynch,
RP Bauta, Nunez

2B Alfonzo
SS Bressoud
3B Charles
C Hearn

No, Glynn would be the reliever and Lynch the starter.

Yost would be in the dugout. Gy DC would be the fan.

Cool Ed Glynn memory posted at UMDB:

The Flushing Flash, what a great person. I met the Flash at Queens College back in the early 80's. I was on the baseball team. Eddie use to go there to workout during the winter time with Don Cooper (White Sox pitching coach)
Omar Minaya
(Mets GM), Roy Smith (former Asst GM and player), Larry Rothschild (Cubs pitching coach) and Neil Allen. The Flash was always the life of the party. I started hanging out with him and became good friends. I lost contact with Eddie in the early 90's after he moved to Virginia Beach. Eddie if you ever read this, you were a great person and friend; we all miss you.
