The Cubs score one in the top of the first. Soriano hits a two out double then scores on a weak flare to centerfield off the end of his bat. Glavine fooled Ramirez, but he fought it off into shallow center and Beltran just couldn't quite come up with it.

Ugh. Marquis singles in two more Cubbies on a grounder just under the glove of Easley.

Glavine's been beating the ball into the ground for the most part so far.
Id rather see that than leaving the ball up.

Cubbies have been lucky.
All RBI hits were possibly playable balls that just got thru or off a glove.
(Endy--howd you not catch that? Easley--gah. Nice try both.)

Mets down 4-0 after 1 1/2.

I got disgusted with all the soft RBI hits the Cubs were getting so I went out to do some work in the yard. It doesn't appear that I missed anything good.

Nothing cheap about that one. Wright has been going the other way more of late. That generally means good things for him.

Mets are climbing back into this one.

Glavines starting to leave it up now.
Only afew walks, but he better get it back down..

He may be getting a lil squeezed on borderliners--UGH! that one to DeRosa was a strike.

Tom walks the bases loaded.
Goes 3-2 on DeRosa and.........
gets him to pop to center.

Smoltzie injured in that Wash/Atl game.

There goes the no-no.
Nice timing, ESPN.

As we go to the seventh inning stretch we're still tied at 4. Time for the Mets to bust this game open.

I need a rally beer. Damn, I find myself without a beer in the house. What am I to do. Think damnit, think. I'll improvise with a rally rum and coke.

Let's go Mets!

Damn, that ball had trouble written all over it. Had the two cubbies collided, Reyes had an easy triple.
