Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 I barely blinked when I saw the thread title. My heart skipped a beat when I read "Jose" rather than "Jorge" upon first glance.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 Second suspension and he's only 22 years old. Some people just won't learn.
Guest silverdsl Guests Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I guess this isn't getting more attention because he's a minor league player. I'd love to know what his thought process was that even after being busted once and having to serve a lengthy suspension, he went right back to using performance enhancers again. Does it speak to there being some sort of addiction issue with performance enhancers in some cases? Is the pressure that great to succeed that some players feel they need to risk severe punishments? Or does he just have a lack of common sense?

I don't recall ever having heard anything about steroids being addictive, but I suppose it's possible. After all, I'm addicted to Pop-Tarts, and they're not generally regarded as an addictive substance.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2007 Author Posted May 9, 2007 I didn't fool anyone with this did I, last year a Jose Antonio Reyes broke his leg playing for Arsenal, that headline would have been more believable.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 The "Jaun Signs" thread* during the free agency of Jaun Gonzalez during the off season leading up to the 2000 season was a classic that fooled most of the old MOFO forum, including myself. Since that time, the use misleading thread titles have slowly lost their effectiveness, since most posters have become accustomed to their usage. * = A classic thread pulled off by one of Johnny Dickshot's personnas.
