Jose Valentin was scratched today with a wore neck after falling asleep on the bus ride over, which, I guess, sort of validates the decision not to bring El Duque.

The Mets are fortunate enough to have four rquality ighthanded setup men. But:

Duaner Sanchez is injured and insubordinate.
Heilman has elbow tendonitis.
Guillermo Mota is suspended and should be.
Ambiorix Burgos hasn't been getting the job done.

Joe Smith may be in the mix sooner than expected.
