Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 I've made up a number that resemble below.$15 each or 5 for $50.Boringest... offseason... ever.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 another in a long line of heart-stopping misleading thread titles.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 y'know, one of these days, somebody's gonna post a "[free agent super star] signs" thread that actually has news of [free agent super star] signing an actual contract with an actual major league baseball team, and we're all gonna be thinking that its just some silly thread with pictures and stuff, and nobody's gonna bother opening it, and it'll get no replies, and you'll just be sitting there at your computer thinking "gosh, doesn't anybody care?" and "doesn't anybody like me anymore?" and you wonder why nobody responds to your thread, and this right here will be why.but i still think its funny when people get tricked.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 I got tricked! And looking at that first photo, Zito getting yanked from that All-Sar team so Bud could add Clemens to the roster was one of Selig's all-time shameful moves.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Ahhh, the classics never go out of style.OK they sometimes do, but since no one has used this one in a while it was worth it.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 I'm just so fucking bored.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 The nerve of him mulling his future.Seriously. The nerve of him. I'm bored, too.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 He's worth waiting for....
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 This winter is going to suck if he ends up in the Bronx.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 This winter has already sucked. Even if we sign Zito, it will mean we have not upgraded LF, 2B, the bullpen or the rotation (as it was Opening Day 2006).
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Mike Zito BandI hope Barry makes sweet music at Shea next season.

I'm used to seeing the Mets get better over the winter, or, at least, thinking that they've gotten better. But I'm not seeing it this year; it looks like 2007 will be a step backwards, and that's no fun, especially for a team with the resources that the Mets have.Getting Zito would brighten my outlook, but you're right, left field and second base are disappointing.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I'm hopeful that Burgos really turns into something, that Ben Johnson was a shrewd acquisition and that the bench is stronger. Guys like Pelfrey and Humber and ... Bobby Parnell only get better over the offseason. Let's just see what Alou does but I think he's the right kind of hitter for the team.
