MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 ="Iubitul"]I think 62 is mistaking Kiner for Frank Thomas.Guilty, your honor. But my point stands. I thought this thread was about Mets players. And the esteemed Mr. Kiner doesn't qualify in that regard, no matter the huge part he has played in Mets lore.Later
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 In point of fact, Edgy said nothing about this being limited to Mets players. And Ralph is as much of a Met as anyone who has ever donned the uniform, IMO.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Then let's throw it back to Edgy to let him explain his intent, rather than our interpretations of what he may have meant.Later
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I'll amend that suggestion to say let's continue having fun with this game unless/until Edgy objects to something.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 I think non-playing Met UMDB-figures qualify nicely. And yes, I know people who played against them appear in the database, and yes, I know people who were property of the team but moved on without ever playing for them appear, in a way, in the database, but let's try not to out-pedant me.]One of several 2003 Mets (Cone, Tony Clark and a couple of others IIRC) who if one or two made the team due to their Minor League contract status would have been nice stories, but because ALL of them made it it was a sign of real concern for that season. About four and half poinds of opinions here.
