Why is Valentin bunting there?

Now Chavez lines out.

Couldn't have been.
Pitchers, once announced, have to stay in the game for at least one out/batter.

Before we all get excited over Looper, he pitched 3 innings of 1-hit ball in game 3 (a Beltran HR) and did have a reasonably good '04 season here.

Nice try Spazzio!

I think that's why people were ticked. he hid his injury and it cost us all year.

My dad just called me. He's at the game!!! He's in the second or third row behind the plate in a white shirt, next to his friend Gerry Martire in a blue shirt and white hat. I can see him right above the FOX score line thing across the top of the screen.

THen again, if he is still an effective closer, why isn't he filling Izzy's role? And why did he lose the role on the Marlins?

Yeah I was for the most part.

Also basing it on the perspective that its more fun to be ahead the whole game than a roller coaster that was Game Six.

Course Game Six WAS Game Six of a FREAKING World Series and all and its more fun to watch a World Series no matter what

I heard a conspiracy theory put forth that the reason the Mets wore the Black on Clinching Day for the Division was because of merchandise selling reasons. (Photos of the celebration would be everywhere on promotional material, ect)

I truely wish they DO NOT do this tomorrow, even if they wore black on the clinchers for the 2000 NLCS, and NLDS

I thought the pitcher picked it (and Pedro likes the pinstripes.)

Didn't Trachsel start the clincher? He pitched the night they wore black in this series, too.

Just another reason to be pissed at trachsel.

No, on the Mets its Charlie Samuels' call, usually he's been a non-pinstripper during the non-summer months because of some issue Rick Peterson has with jacket wearing or some thing, and the jacket clashes with the all blueness of the pinstripe set

Say your prayers little one
Dont forget, my son
To include everyone

Tuck you in, warm within
Keep you free from sin
Till the sandman he comes

Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
Off to never never land

Somethings wrong, shut the light
Heavy thoughts tonight
And they arent of snow white

Dreams of war, dreams of liars
Dreams of dragons fire
And of things that will bite

Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
Off to never never land

Now I lay me down to sleep
Pray the lord my soul to keep
If I die before I wake
Pray the lord my soul to take

Hush little baby, dont say a word
And never mind that noise you heard
Its just the beast under your bed,
In your closet, in your head

Exit light
Enter night
Grain of sand

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
Were off to never never land

Say what you want about "Taking Care of Business", but I was very glad to hear it tonight.

And I want very much to hear it again tomorrow night!

You get up every morning
From your 'larm clock's warning
Take the 8:15 into the city
There's a whistle up above
And people pushin', people shovin'
And the girls who try to look pretty
And if your train's on time
You can get to work by nine
And start your slaving job to get your pay
If you ever get annoyed
Look at me I'm self-employed
I love to work at nothing all day
And I'll be

Taking care of business (every day)
Taking care of business (every way)
I've been taking care of business (it's all mine)
Taking care of business and working overtime
Work out

If it were easy as fishin'
You could be a musician
If you could make sounds loud or mellow
Get a second-hand guitar
Chances are you'll go far
If you get in with the right bunch of fellows
People see you having fun
Just a-lying in the sun
Tell them that you like it this way
It's the work that we avoid
And we're all self-employed
We love to work at nothing all day
And we be

Taking care of business (every day)
Taking care of business (every way)
We be been taking care of business (it's all mine)
Taking care of business and working overtime

Mercy
Whooooo
All right
[instrumental Interlude]
Take good care of my business
When I'm away, every day
Whoooo

You get up every morning
From your 'larm clock's warning
Take the 8:15 into the city
There's a whistle up above
And people pushin', people shovin'
And the girls who try to look pretty

If you ever get annoyed
Look at me I'm self-employed
I love to work at nothing all day
And I'll be

Taking care of business (every day)
Taking care of business (every way)
I've been taking care of business (it's all mine)
Taking care of business and working overtime

[brief Instrumental Interlude]

Takin' care of business, whoo
Takin' care of business
Takin' care of business
Takin' care of business
Takin' care of business (every day)
Takin' care of business (every way)
Takin' care of business (it's all mine)
Takin' care of business
And working overtime
Whoooo
Takin' care of business
Takin' care of business
Takin' care of business
We be Takin' care of business
We be Takin' care of business
Takin' care of business
Takin' care of business

The Mets have played much better in this NLCS when I have been watching the action on the TV in the master bedroom upstairs. Most of the time, when I have ventured to other rooms to watch the games, the Mets play usually started to deteriorate and fall apart. So unfortunately, I didn't get to enjoy this game online with all of you, because I was watching on my "lucky TV".

I know where I will be tomorrow night.

Gary did the radio call on the Reyes homer.

Gwreck
Oct 19 2006 01:09 AM

Great fun at Shea tonight. Best crowd of the postseason so far.

First pitch was Matt Dillon. Maybe they'll use Tim Robbins tomorrow?

Was disappointed that Willie didn't double switch when he brought Wagner in. Pitcher's spot wsa due up first in the bottom of the 9th. He should've taken Valentin out and switched in Anderson Hernandez, our best defensive infielder (except perhaps Reyes).

Bradford again got up in a real hurry in the 5th when Maine was facing Spiezio. If they were going to bring him in to face Pujols if a runner was on, they should've been prepared a lot quicker -- Bradford didn't start throwing until after Eckstein was retired. It's not like they didn't know who was batting next. Strange.

Reyes took the curtain call, as the Jose-Jose-Jose-Jose chant continued long after the homer. Curtain call for a solo homer in the 1st was a risky proposition (ie. inviting a pitch to the rear end), I thought.

Let's go Mets!

Why? If the Cards score enough to make the Mets bat in the ninth, Wagner isn't pitching another inning any way...

I thought it was great - With the way La Genius has been running his mouth, I felt the Mets needed to get their swagger back.

Lucky beards, outfits, beers, and TV's. The Mets can never have too much good karma and support from their fans.
Good work all.

Yes, but my thought was that if the Cards scored enough to tie/lead, Wagner would've been pulled before that happened and we'd have burned him and another reliever getting there.

I doubt that. It's not the player that initiated it; it was the fans. They're the ones who pay the salaries, so if they want a curtain call, why blame the player for giving them that?

But, I do admit, it was tempting fate.

So Taguchi is a pain in the rosy red rectum.
Is there some way the Mets can get his Green Card pulled before tonight's game?

He may get the start in left against the lefty starter.
I hope the Mets have an 11 run lead each time he comes to bat.

Dont forget, my son
To include everyone

Tuck you in, warm within
Keep you free from sin
Till the sandman he comes

Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
Off to never never land

Somethings wrong, shut the light
Heavy thoughts tonight
And they arent of snow white

Dreams of war, dreams of liars
Dreams of dragons fire
And of things that will bite

Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
Off to never never land

Now I lay me down to sleep
Pray the lord my soul to keep
If I die before I wake
Pray the lord my soul to take

Hush little baby, dont say a word
And never mind that noise you heard
Its just the beast under your bed,
In your closet, in your head

Exit light
Enter night
Grain of sand

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
Were off to never never land

Say what you want about "Taking Care of Business", but I was very glad to hear it tonight.

And I want very much to hear it again tomorrow night!

You get up every morning
From your 'larm clock's warning
Take the 8:15 into the city
There's a whistle up above
And people pushin', people shovin'
And the girls who try to look pretty
And if your train's on time
You can get to work by nine
And start your slaving job to get your pay
If you ever get annoyed
Look at me I'm self-employed
I love to work at nothing all day
And I'll be

Taking care of business (every day)
Taking care of business (every way)
I've been taking care of business (it's all mine)
Taking care of business and working overtime
Work out

If it were easy as fishin'
You could be a musician
If you could make sounds loud or mellow
Get a second-hand guitar
Chances are you'll go far
If you get in with the right bunch of fellows
People see you having fun
Just a-lying in the sun
Tell them that you like it this way
It's the work that we avoid
And we're all self-employed
We love to work at nothing all day
And we be

Taking care of business (every day)
Taking care of business (every way)
We be been taking care of business (it's all mine)
Taking care of business and working overtime

Mercy
Whooooo
All right
[instrumental Interlude]
Take good care of my business
When I'm away, every day
Whoooo

You get up every morning

Take the 8:15 into the city
There's a whistle up above

The Mets have played much better in this NLCS when I have been watching the action on the TV in the master bedroom upstairs.

And it was nice to see Mota without dirt on his cap.

The blacks gotta go.
Lets devote the winter to making that happen.

SteveJRogers
Oct 18 2006 11:02 PM

No, on the Mets its Charlie Samuels' call, usually he's been a non-pinstripper during the non-summer months because of some issue Rick Peterson has with jacket wearing or some thing, and the jacket clashes with the all blueness of the pinstripe set

You have had a fine season....
If you cant hold them here I will clear my shit list and put your name on it giant sized.
I will hold it against you til the end of time itself.
You will rue the day you were born.
There will be no place for you to hide....

OK, no pressure guy--get it done.

Say your prayers little one
Dont forget, my son
To include everyone

Tuck you in, warm within
Keep you free from sin
Till the sandman he comes

Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
Off to never never land

Somethings wrong, shut the light
Heavy thoughts tonight
And they arent of snow white

Dreams of war, dreams of liars
Dreams of dragons fire
And of things that will bite

Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
Off to never never land

Now I lay me down to sleep
Pray the lord my soul to keep
If I die before I wake
Pray the lord my soul to take

Hush little baby, dont say a word
And never mind that noise you heard
Its just the beast under your bed,
In your closet, in your head

Exit light
Enter night
Grain of sand

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
Were off to never never land

Say what you want about "Taking Care of Business", but I was very glad to hear it tonight.

And I want very much to hear it again tomorrow night!

You get up every morning
From your 'larm clock's warning
Take the 8:15 into the city
There's a whistle up above
And people pushin', people shovin'
And the girls who try to look pretty
And if your train's on time
You can get to work by nine
And start your slaving job to get your pay
If you ever get annoyed
Look at me I'm self-employed
I love to work at nothing all day
And I'll be

Taking care of business (every day)
Taking care of business (every way)
I've been taking care of business (it's all mine)
Taking care of business and working overtime
Work out

If it were easy as fishin'
You could be a musician
If you could make sounds loud or mellow
Get a second-hand guitar
Chances are you'll go far
If you get in with the right bunch of fellows
People see you having fun
Just a-lying in the sun
Tell them that you like it this way
It's the work that we avoid
And we're all self-employed
We love to work at nothing all day
And we be

Taking care of business (every day)
Taking care of business (every way)
We be been taking care of business (it's all mine)
Taking care of business and working overtime

Mercy
Whooooo
All right
[instrumental Interlude]
Take good care of my business
When I'm away, every day
Whoooo

The Mets have played much better in this NLCS when I have been watching the action on the TV in the master bedroom upstairs.
