A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Jeff Weaver does not throw 96 MPH.I'm sure FOX has been trying to woo viewers with tales of real-life freaks like Joel Zumaya who throws a miraculous 103 MPH!!!But they're gun's like 4 or 5 MPH fast and Buck jokingly admitted such, saying they must've purchased their guns from BALCO.FOX also annoyed me tonight by having a half hour pre-game show, but not using five minutes of it to show the teams being introduced.I'm going to go get a beer and chill out.Go Mets.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Hi GuysWhat the weather like out there today? We had snow here in Michigan, about a month ahead of when it normally starts showing up. Looks like a buch of deep balls are going nowhere at Shea, so I was wondering about the wind and all.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Chavez just replaced Floyd in the outfield.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I knew that didn't look good. N-D in left.
Guest metsguyinmichigan Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Nice snag by Wright. If Cliff's out for the series, we're screwed.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Ugh--Cliffy out already.Crap- Timmys goin on with some bull about 24 man roster, but I think Cliffs done aside from pinch hitting for the remainder. Hope he can pinch it in a spot.Nice DP there.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Thanks to the inning-ending DP and a bunch of those knuckleheads swinging on the first pitch, Glavine's through 3 at exactly 30 pitches.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 MiM: Weather here is nice tonight: Light breeze low 60s.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 how often does the 25th man get used in postseason play anyways? i mean, itd suck if we needed him but cliff couldnt play, but i'm not entirely sure that it'll impact us too much.i hope..

If we advance, they need to leave Cliff off of the WS roster.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 We lose some power with Endy replacing Floyd, but we gain speed and defense. It's just a shame that it will shorten the bench for the remainder of the NLCS. Maybe Floyd can do a Kirk Gibson impression as a pinch hitter some time later in the series.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 This is really turning into a sack-up kinda postseason. I kinda like that we have to scrap, scrape, survive, claw, fight, struggle, wrestle, scuffle, hustle, grind, burn, grapple, persevere, bear down, bite down and toughen up.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Not a good at bat by the birthday boy. Followed by a poor sac bunt attempt by Glavine.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Yeah, we can't waste leadoff runners like that.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Those were the worst two consecutive calls by an ump I think I've ever seen.Poor Reyes. This fucking ump is going to undo all the hard work Reyes put in this season in learning the strike zone.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I like these first-pitch outs from Glavine.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Why is Glavine getting squeezed while Weaver gets anything within 6 inches of the plate called a strike?

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Awesome hustle and heads up play by Beltran to double Pujols off first.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Pujols just got doubled off at 1B on a routine ball to CF. the playoffs arent a good time for a brain fart.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Sweet play by Beltran! Huzzah!]Eh. First call was terrible. 2nd borderline but I could buy it. Reyes was just fooled.Hey! You're messing with my "angry at the ump" groove!I thought the second was worse than the first actually . . .
