soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 That 'Dodgerblues' site keeps me going back there. It's like the old MOFO on Human Growth Hormone. I-I-I don't want to look but I can't help myself. One thing I saw there - Kirk Gibson lame leg - 1988Nomar Garciaparra lame leg - 2006Not funny.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Nomar is no Derek JeterAnd Derek Jeter is NO KIRK GIBSON! No matter what the stats say, or that catch that ended Nomar's career in Boston!
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 I think that site is easy to misinterpret as vulgar and childish. It's really a brilliant work of caustic comedy. I posted this before, but the "note" the writer shows that inspired the site must have been the most traumatic form of child abuse I could possibly image. It's hilarious!
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 From Dodger Blues:]What's the only thing more embarrassing than having two runners tagged out at the plate seconds apart? Allowing someone's friggin' grandfather to beat out a double-play ball.
Guest cooby Guests Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Now THAT's funny.BTW, my husband woke me with the news that Nomar is through for the series, is that true?
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 I heard he won't start, but is available to pinch-hit.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Can't run the bases either. If he gets on, he'll be replaced with a pinch-runner.
soupcan Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2006 Author Posted October 10, 2006 More from DodgerBlues in response to Jose Reyes' exuberence in Game 3. sadLAD wrote: If Drysdale or Gibson are on the mound, next time up ,he is picking dirt out out of his Lisa Simpson hairdo... That cracked me up. Keep in mind this was one sentence in a profane, racist post but still that part of the description had me cracking up.That's the only problem with those guys, they're definitely funny but you can't read a post without having your race and religion dragged into the sewer.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 I have no religion, and, being a white guy in America, I pretty much have no race either. But I still found them more off-putting than anything else. On the first page I looked at they were wishing cancer on each other's relatives.I made an early exit and don't care to return. If there are any nuggets among all that hate I'm okay with missing out on them.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Kind of Post Facto, but there was enough on the Dodger Blues website to make it's own thread.
RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Man, that site is pathetic. I mean, I've have a lot of frustration over the Mets over the past 40 years, but I'd never resort to the sort of vicious crap you see over there. If you hate the players so much, why root for the team? It's just a festering cesspool of immaturity and hate. Really sad.
