A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Willets- Martin hit a double off the right field wall. Green threw a strike to Valentin who threw a strike to Lo Duca who tagged out Kent diving into home. JD Drew didn't stop at third, though, and was right on Ken't tail. Don't know why he didn't slow down with the play developing in front of him, but he kept running. Maine shouted at Lo Duca that another runner was coming home and Lo Duca put down a second tag to get the also diving Drew out at home. It was unreal. That inning could've been a hell of a lot worse. Maine at 42 pitches now at the end of 2.

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2006 Author Posted October 4, 2006 Hits and runs -- we wants them -- yesssssssssssssss.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Not this inning.Mets out in order in the second.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Lofton gets blown away,On the big stage, of course.
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Always a good thing when Furball makes a laed-off out. Maine looks much better from the wind-up than the stretch. Sit down again Kenny!
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Maine looked good again in the third. 1-2-3.He'll lead off the bottom of the inning.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2006 Author Posted October 4, 2006 Dodgers 1-2-3 down 1-2-3 again.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Okay, he needed a nice, quick inning and he got one. Now lets get some runs.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 If the Dodgers keep sending out their 1-2-3 hitters every inning, we'll be OK.
Guest Hillbilly Guests Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Time to go teach the shortest class of the semester. Keep the IGT going guys. I'll read it to catch up on the batter or two I miss.

Doesn't sound good.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Sleazy caught looking. Mets down in order in the third.
Guest old original jb Guests Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Sucks to be in my office. That download sounds to good to be true; either my computer will explode or I'll be led away in handcuffs.Besides, I don't think my patients would appreciate my watching the game while I work.Sucks to be a grownup sometimes.I'll go on record, as saying that if the Mets go deep into the post-season, the "Two at the Plate" will become immortal, along with the Grand Slam Single and Mookie's squibber down the first base line.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I hope Maine gets those corners.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2006 Author Posted October 4, 2006 Urgh! Mets better do better than this. The heart of the order -- Carlos, Carlos, and David -- should get something started next time around.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 2 big Ks that inning by maine--niiiice.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 John Maine is pitching his bag off. Lets get him some runs NOW!!!
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 That super slow-mo replay is kick ass.

Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 That homer by Delgado was almost straightaway to center field. I was thinking that Lofton would track it down, but it just kept carrying.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I think Gary Thorne said it was hit by Shawn Green.Pay attention Gary, or we'll fire you and replace you with Gary Cohen!
