TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 If I remember correctly in 2000 they clinched the wild card they day after they got eliminated from the division, so even though they wrapped up the wild card spot (in a win against the Braves I believe), it still felt hollow to celebrate too hard after coming so close to the winning the division.
