stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2006 Author Posted September 3, 2006 I mean like you said, for the 6th straight year the Mets will not be playing a single meaningfull game in September!
dinosaur jesus Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Can you turn it inside out?

Guest SwitchHitter Guests Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 I could turn it backwards......but I won't. Y'all don't need no stinkin' rally.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2006 Author Posted September 3, 2006 Come on Lidge, pretend Floyd is Pujols!
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2006 Author Posted September 3, 2006 Okay, Delgado is definatly Pujols-esque!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 ]Last game in Houston for 06 MetsProbably, but not neccesarily.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2006 Author Posted September 3, 2006 KABOOM2-1 MetsHRs are rally killers though. Love to see actual stats for it though in terms of runs scored after a HR.Whers the Elias phone number!
Guest SwitchHitter Guests Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 game over. Lidge isn't the closer, but he got it done.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2006 Author Posted September 3, 2006 Lidge LOST his closer role? To whom?

Guest SwitchHitter Guests Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 To a committe. Of which he's apparently a member.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 btw, we were two batters away from getting to Woodward's spot and THEN I would have joined you in calling for a PH appearance by Wright.THAT's when the game would have really been on the line. Until then, let Woody grab some ABs and have Wright's day off truly be a day off.
Guest SwitchHitter Guests Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 How did Pettitte get the name "rat-face"? I really wanna know. I keep seeing it here and wondering so I figured I might as well ask.

Guest SwitchHitter Guests Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Okay, that makes sense. I'm half-blind so I don't see things like that.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 I'm pretty sure that's a nickname that origniated on this board - although I don't know who specifically came up with it.I just saw the replay of Oswalt's bases-loaded GO to Valentin ... he was safe.
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2006 Author Posted September 3, 2006 Darn! Can not google a good shot of what I'm talking about.Basically camera focuses straight on Pettitte's face, the brim is lowered, really making the long face and nose stand out and the glove is right in front of his face, almost identical to Clemens' glare
Guest SwitchHitter Guests Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 That's really pettitte. is that what you mean?
Guest SwitchHitter Guests Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 This board don't allow .bmps?
stevejrogers Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2006 Author Posted September 3, 2006 Yup. I'm trying to find one where the glove is right in front, just before going into his delivery. Ah well
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 I'm all in favor of David Wright and Paul LoDuca getting days off, but not using them as pinch hitters in the 8th (in place of Woodward and DiFelice) is tantamount to giving up...in a 2-0 game.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 I was thinking the same thing.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 I've not seen much baseball this weekend but I just heard Willie say Beltran could be back Monday...
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 That's terrific. The report I saw had Beltran saying that his knee is feeling a lot better, and he's very pleased.
