]Tike Redman has been designated for assignment to make room for pitcher John Maine, acquired in the Kris Benson trade, on the 40-man roster. The Mets will need to pass Redman through waivers in order to keep him. Also, the team traded minor-league outfielder Angel Pagan to the Cubs for cash considerations. Pagan, 24, hit .271 with eight homers, 40 RBI and 27 stolen bases last season at Triple-A Norfolk. He had been designated for assignment to open a 40-man roster spot for Japanese pitcher Yusaku Iriki.

Yes, that Jose Lima, the owner of one of, if not THE highest ERA of any ML starter last year. (IIRC around 7.00).
