Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 David Wright is my favorite Met.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Mike Jacobs for Rookie of the Year.
Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 I have to see this Kaz rundown. They better show this on ESPN1 this airing.5-0!?!!!does that say a Jacobs double?YEAAABABY
Guest Beenso Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 im really kicking myself for not acquiring him on the fantasy squad.....wow....
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 As much as we still love Mr. Wright, it must be pointed out that he makes a baserunning gaffe and is out between 2nd and 3rd on VD's grounder.Meanwhile, that spunky Jacobs kid doubles in VD!
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 SBC--Took the ferry there Monday night to see the G-men beat the phils (on Irish Heritage night, Duan and MetsIrish)-- heading back that same way this weekend -- beats the hell out of the 7 train
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Could this be any better? Seo contributing with the bat.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 A Boy named Seo...fucking WOW..
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Seo doubles in Jacobs, but Castro is out at the plate to end the inning.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Even Jae Seo contributes with the bat!I just picked up Jacobs - good thing I've always been in a league with only MFY fans.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 I think I'm the only member of the KazMat fan club. He will show all you doubters.I like baseball.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 It's the Edgy factor, I swear the Mets are hot since Edgy has gone, where is he anyway?, OK I hope.
Guest GYC Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Interesting note: 4 of the last 6 outs Ortiz has recorded have come on either a runner being thrown out/caught in a rundown or a sac bunt.

Or a Krispy Kreme donut.Best food in the majors!(Oh, and root on the Mets to victory!)
willpie Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 You know, I'm warming up to this Jacobs kid.The Arizona announcers were talking about how the fielders botched the Kaz rundown, but I felt like it was at least partially due to real heads-up baserunning by Mr. Matsui. Also, they keep pronouncing Seo like 'sow', which results in my imagining a pig trying to pitch and then giggling like a little girl. Also, the Arizona announcers kinda suck.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Is Mark Grace swearing and cussing like the lout that he is...where is that link, that was classic.

He looks like he really enjoys himself and he loves the game. All the money they will eventually throw him will be incidental.Hes like a throwback real baseball guy, who is proud to be a student of the game. Very enthuiastic, and he learns. When i saw that play in Philly (and afew others that made me think he was possibly a dunce) with the grounder down the 3rd base line and Bell caught it and Wright didnt even notice and rounded the bag.......well.I think when he does learn his lesson he remembers it.And in that case i dont mind those kind of mistakes. Cuz later I can laugh.Like when Im lookin at the stats around this time a year.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Do you think Arizona will let us move in here?Jesus, but this is a good series so far. We're patient at the plate, we've had (mostly) heads-up baserunning, timely hitting, and so far good pitching. And Mike Jacobs is my fucking hero. How happy is this kid? How smart does Willie (and Petey) look for keeping him up and putting him in the lineup? So many pleasant questions to consider . . .Speaking of Seo, he sets em down in order in the third.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Have a clam chowder for me. Or a Krispy Kreme donut. ]I'm a garlic fry fan myself...
Guest GYC Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Another triple for Reyes. Jeez. Mets can't be stopped. We should play our home games here.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Seriously, we're up by seven runs. Let's not slide head first into third and hurt ourselves.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 DocTee wrote:I'm a garlic fry fan myself...Those are good too. How come they're only on the Left Coast?
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Oh, and I still think Matsui has the talent to be a solid second baseman, but I'm not sure he'll be able to do it here. I don't think he does well with the booing and the pressure. He seems to be playing well lately, though. Good stuff. Keep it up, K-Mat.
