Pittsburgh up 1-0 after three, on a two-out single by Doumit and a over Beltran by Castillo, who was thrown out going for three.

I zoned out and just realized that 3 innings have already happened. "Not Luis" Castillo had an RBI double in the second for the Irates

(edit: yeah, what he said)

Eldred homers and it's 3-0.

Zambrano has options left, right?

Let's not use options punitively. Let's use our bats.

That HbP of Bay was Zambrano's eleventh, which ties him for the fifth hit-batsemenest season in Metstory.

God Doumit Zamby sucks today!

Woodie misplays a drive to right and it's 4-0.

Im watchin the game.
Sometimes these rare WPIX weeknight games get blocked down here at the NJ shore due to my non Met fan cable company. Im probly the one guy who calls to complain.

Is Beltran a lil gun shy?
How did that fly ball drop in for the 1st Buc run?

Whoops, Eldred just goes deep on Zambrano for 2 runs.
And they get 1 more.
OUCH.
Cammy would a had that drive to right.

Okeedoke,
time to break out the bats boys.

Oh, Angle Hernandez is behind the plate.

Is it just me or have you all noticed how umpires these days seem to suck.
And sometimes I think they instigate things.

Hernandez always seems to have a chip on his shoulder.

Not that, you know, about 90% of the players don't.

The first one who I actually considered to be antagonistic and confrontational as well as anti-Met was Lee Weyer.
Not only that, but he was a bully. If you disagreed slightly, you got the thumb. I hated that big fat bastard.

But, you're right. I'm noticing a steady decline in umpiring quality in the past few years. And Hernandez is a real piece of work.

Bay plunked. Again. What did he ever do to you, Victor?

Bay's been hit twice. I fear a Met is going down hard this inning.

Nothing Duke throws is really over the plate. It's either on the corners or off. Very tough hitter.

Way to hog the call, on that Cairo play, Hernandez.

That may be the only way we get another runner on base

Beltran takes a change up low and away into center for a single.

If that's the best hittable pitch we get, maybe we should be fouling more off and waiting this guy out.

But he's good.

Beltran singles!! Woo hoo!!

There hasn't been much to cheer about in this game so it doesn't take much to get me going.

Cliff grabs a seat in the dug out.

This is all Howie Rose's fault.
(Or whoever was doing the pre-game radio show- my car radio had static)
He mentioned that if the Mets won, it would be a SWEEP.

Doesn't the idiot know the old baseball superstition that you never, as in NEVER, use that word?
You can think it, but you should never speak it.

It is one of the most famous baseball jinxes. He should know by now how superstitious players, and fans, are.

How could he?
Its so dumb, even Fran Healey wouldn't ever utter that word.

Sweep, sweep, sweep.

Didn't someone mention during an IGT the other day that the Mets have stolen a lot of third base lately, but that the runner on first never seems to move? I understand when it's Ramon Castro, but I don't know why Wright wouldn't be on the move as soon as he sees Beltran go.
