nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 why not take a chance on this guy?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I don't see us having room on the Major League roster. Yeah, you could release Graves or attempt to pass him through waivers, but that just replaces one reclamation project with another. Padilla or Santiago could go down, but they've allowed one run in eleven innings between them. With the pitching staff having a near-excellent July; Traschel coming back in the next week; and Ring, McGinley, and Seo growing ripe on the vine, I don't see why we'd need to add an experiment.I just checked the Norfolk roster. Manny Freakin' Aybar is performing well for them.

nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2005 Author Posted August 2, 2005 can we get boone too?
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I think when Trachsel comes back, we'll DFA Graves and put Ishii in the pen, right? He's been solid against lefties . . . Hell, we could DFA both of them. Graves isn't working out and we have better options. . . .
smg58 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 I would guess they'd try to deal Ishii. He might actually be an upgrade for one or two contending teams. He could be useful in the pen, but I'd really prefer not to demote somebody for his sake.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 (From my friend Shoeless Don the White Sox fan) Takatsu fooled 'em last year with his slow, slower, slowest stuff. But the word got out this year about him in the AL and he has been lit up by everyone. I'd guess NLers know about him too, by now.PassLater
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Ishii must leave, immediately. Graves must go down to Norfolk to work on his stuff. We've got talent in our organization, let's start bringing them up!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Nothing about that 3.46 ERA in July tells me immediately. The problem with this team is and long has been on the other side of the ledger.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 Mets sign Takatsu, expected to pitch this weekend for Norfolk.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 That's interesting. I suppose this came as a result of Danny Graves' struggles.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2005 Author Posted August 12, 2005 hey we finalyl got a "project" guy that i actually wanted! woohoo!
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 12, 2005 Posted August 12, 2005 He and Ishii can room together and wonder where they are.
DocTee Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 between ishii, graves, and takatsu, I'd say Omar's expanding his scope beyond Latin ballplayers-- we've now cornered the market on crappy Asian pitchers.
