Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 We had too much hand-wringing on the old site over the limited options of only five possible ratings. So used 10 in my Batman Begins poll, now that we can.But we should standardize. What should we standarize at?
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 I like ten; more variety. Good call.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 10's good. You can also do half stars, but it's gonna add up to 10 choices either way.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 11 1/222 1/233 1/244 1/25That would be nine (leaving Sharpie to give everything a 3). We can also add a 1/2 (0.5) star option at the bottom of a poll, giving us a round ten option, but giving Sharpie no absloute middle. Waddaya think?
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 Or zero for the movies that absolutely (perform acts not describable on a family-friendly forum).
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 Nah, zero's too tempting.Besides, in order to keep our gradations, even, that would require eleven choices. Or nine, with four stars being the highest rating.
Guest sharpie Guests Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 5.10 is too many and you have to do the math to get to what the equivalent is. We're all familiar with the four-star ratings (later changed to five-star for no good reason).Lucky I haven't seen Fantastic 4 or Batman Begins cause I don't wanna vote in a puffed-up steroid rating system. My son saw both, rates recent vintage superhero franchises in the following order: Spiderman, X-Men, Batman, Fantastic 4, Daredevil, Hulk.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 So, then 1/211 1/222 1/233 1/244 1/25Is that what you're advocating?
Guest sharpie Guests Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Sure.(on edit): But I didn't have a problem with the old 1-5. I just have my own rules which ends up me giving a whole mess of 3s.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted July 11, 2005 Posted July 11, 2005 Without any further objections, so be it. Now there'll be no absolute middle.
Vic Sage Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2005 Posted July 15, 2005 can i turn it up to 11?"why don't you just make 10 louder?""but it goes to 11..."
