metirish Old-Timey Member Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I wonder if Senger is still stacking shelfs between call ups
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Also. I know we don’t have many options. But it’s hard to score runs trotting out Marcus Semien and backup catchers in the same lineup. But it looks like the Mets will be doing this for the next two months minimum.

The MLB minimum salary is $780,000 for 2026. That breaks down to $4,814.81 per game. If a player fills n for 10 games when someone is on the DL, they have a great 2 weeks. With Alvarez expected to be out a minimum of 6 weeks, Senger should not need to stock shelves at the grocery store any time soon. metirish 1
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Gets an MLB salary just for being on the 40. Those shelves aren't going to stock themselves, of course.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Tigers take a quick 3-0 lead on a three run HR by Gage Workman.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The Mets need to do something about batters challenging calls. Bichette gets fouled on a pitch for strike three and immediately challenges. The pitch was "a pitcher's pitch" and easily a strike. So the Mets lose one challenge 2 batters into the game. I think challenges are best used by catchers and should otherwise be reserved for egregiously bad calls.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago McLean has a proclivity to throw homerun balls I believe Feels like every outing
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 52 minutes ago Posted 52 minutes ago I can't speak to feelings. Data is more helpful. Meanwhile, A.J. Ewing is allowed to homer.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 44 minutes ago Posted 44 minutes ago Tough call. I think he got in there but the evidence is inconclusive.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 41 minutes ago Posted 41 minutes ago That last shot is conclusive, but the booth saw it different?
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted 40 minutes ago Posted 40 minutes ago That call really should have been overturned. But... whatever!
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 40 minutes ago Posted 40 minutes ago The Mets catch a break. Workman sure appeared to be safe at third on the slow motion replays. I guess it was the "insufficeint evidence to overturn" the initial call. We'll take it. This team needs all the help it can get.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 33 minutes ago Posted 33 minutes ago And the Mets capitalize. Also, that railing continues to be an awful impediment.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 24 minutes ago Posted 24 minutes ago Cleon remembers right! He went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Willie's debut.

According to Baseball America, a minor league player receives a pro-rated MLB salary ($780,000/162 or $4814.81/game) during their time on the active roster. However, minor league players receive a special salary (approximately $67,300+) if sent down while still on the 40 man roster. If not on the 40 man roster, a standard minor league salary is $1,250 a week for AAA.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 16 minutes ago Posted 16 minutes ago After using their top relievers in a 10th inning game, it would be nice to see the Mets ride this low pitch count of McLean's as far as they can.

No more than minor leaguers make, I was shocked that they would pay 15 players the huge difference that the MLB minimum represents. I learned something new today. So that's a good day!
