Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 20 Posted March 20 The message I just posted in the Larry Stahl RIP thread has prompted this message. As I've hinted before, I'm going to continue to do some minor updates to the data in the O.G. version of the Ultimate Mets Database. I'll update the stats periodically throughout the season, and I'll enter game results, but not box scores. And, apparently, I'll continue to update it when former players die. I had thought that the new version of the UMDB would have all of the existing features, but displayed in a different format. It's now looking like that's not going to be the case. So I'll continue to do the updates that are easy to do and that will make the site a reference that I can continue to use. And anyone else as well who can find the site and has an interest in its less comprehensive contents. So... Game results. Mets stats. Deaths. No fan memories, transactions, minor league stats, box scores, or scorecards. No more "scrapbook" articles. Maybe tabloid covers. But probably not. The content that was in place, box scores, memories, etc, at the end of 2025 will remain. I just won't continue to expand in it going forward. Edgy MD 1
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted March 25 Author Posted March 25 The new UMDB is supposed to be fully implemented by tomorrow. I just took a peek, and it's pretty much where it's been for two months. I really do hope that I'll check in tomorrow and be impressed by what I see.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 I noticed today that the new Ultimate Mets Database is set to be unveiled on Thursday. whippoorwill and MFS62 2
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 3 Author Posted April 3 The original version can be accessed at the link I posted above: https://leaptoad.com/mets As for the new ultimatemets.com, I don't know. The update that they posted recently was encouraging. I was starting to think that they may have abandoned the idea. But I guess it's day to day at this point. whippoorwill 1
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 3 Author Posted April 3 I'll probably do an update to the "classic" version early next week. Just stats and game results for the first week or so of the season. MFS62 and whippoorwill 2

Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 5 Author Posted April 5 I'm getting some frustrated messages through the UMDB Facebook page, which is still mine. (The new guy didn't want it.)
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 5 Posted April 5 You’ve ruined the site. It has NO information on it anymore. It was the greatest and now sucks Well, you didn't ruin it, but point taken
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 5 Author Posted April 5 I wonder if people would have been more upset or less upset if I had simply shut it down, as I had considered doing.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted April 16 Author Posted April 16 I have no idea what's going on over there.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted April 16 Posted April 16 That place seems as lost and inept as the Mets offense.
Benjamin Grimm Old-Timey Member Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago I reached out to the new guy last week, but never got a response. I noticed that there used to be an "About Us" section that listed the names and even a couple of photos of the new team, but that's been taken down. MFS62 1
