Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 10 Posted March 10 I'm the best catcher in the league for one to two months, and then something happens. My enormous arms get tired, an injury kicks in, I flail at garbage off the plate, and then I disappear. Like, for another two months. But I finished last season a flame. Burning. Torrential. As the entire team was breaking down in the August heat, I was having the run of my life. Not so bad in September either, but since I was a 2025 Met, I was not so good either. There was some kind of agreement we all had to kind of hold back and throw the playoff stretch so we could force the team to get rid of Nimmo and McNeil and Alonso and Diaz and (ugh) Marte. But you didn't hear that from me.So now, with all those guys gone, I have totally moved up in the pecking order, and it's time for me to live up to that. I'm a catcher, so there is only so much I can do, but I'm a big, burly, skilled catcher, and whether or not I have a big, burly, skilled season speaks a lot to what kind of year the Mets will have.So what kind of season will that be? I ask of you, so that all may know ahead of time, and get their bets down.[FIMG=350]https://foxsportsradionewjersey.com/uploads/2025/02/GettyImages-2179883520_1738698211_.jpg?format=auto&optimize=high&width=1440[/FIMG] [FIMG=350]https://worldbaseball.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/e1e569351bb9481ea16b287fab408e9d-preview.jpg[/FIMG][FIMG=379]https://a.espncdn.com/photo/2025/0720/r1521460_1296x729_16-9.jpg[/FIMG] [FIMG=321]https://encrypted-tbn1.gstatic.com/licensed-image?q=tbn:ANd9GcSjF2nc1Cfer7PEJ4r9gI08-zEviT-CZJxiiSzyzOrdBj3cly1dRyj47EehDWhVCniu08VHPoFFc1vyLgo[/FIMG]

Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Francisco, and Baty and Vientos, all of em have at times looked like MLB all stars. I'd love for all three of them to do it for a full season and simultaneously.

Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted March 15 Posted March 15 It's getting close to make-or-break time. .244, 19 HR, 57 RBI, with injury time.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted March 18 Posted March 18 .821 OPS. 28 HR. Solid defense. All-Star.
Lefty Specialist Old-Timey Member Posted March 21 Posted March 21 I agree, this is a put up-or-shut up year for Alvarez. Unfortunately, I expect more inconsistency. 14/55/.240. He needs someone to teach him to lay off the outside stuff and not to have a home-run cut on every damned swing.
