Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted March 1 Author Posted March 1 The 1-5 Astros are currently throwing a no-hitter!
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted March 1 Author Posted March 1 No-hitter broken; .308-hitting Ronny Mauricio got the knock.
metsmarathon Old-Timey Member Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Oh boy it’s such a pretty day down there.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted March 1 Author Posted March 1 Santa is in the spirit of giving early, as he surrendered 2 walks, a hit and a run to New York. Alimber Santa, that is. Then Tyrone Taylor walloped a solo shot deep into the ether, beyond the stars and the moon, past the farthest galaxies and into the far reaches of the very fabric of what we can even call space and time to put the Mets ahead 2-1.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 1 Posted March 1 This is something like half an A-list starting lineup from Houston. It is interesting to see, as the Mets start to let their starting pitchers go three and now four innings (yay, Clay Holmes!), that these are longer outings than the Mets allowed their starting pitchers to throw last September.Jack Wenninger, meanwhile, walked four guys in an inning and a third, and while only one run was charged to him, that's not the way to get noticed. Not the good way, anyhow. And that run ties the game.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted March 1 Author Posted March 1 The game is tied 3-3. 9th inning. Matt Turner, he of the 5.79 ERA in the minors last year, got through the top of the ninth without allowing a run. The powerhouse trio of Austin Barnes, Chris Suero and Jackson Cluff are due up next. Suero did hit a homer earlier in the game.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted March 1 Author Posted March 1 Barnes doubles! Man on second! Get excited, it's a spring training game!!
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted March 1 Author Posted March 1 Chris Suero walks! Man on first and second! No outs! Jackson Cluff is up -- Cluff's got the stuff!
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted March 1 Author Posted March 1 Welp, a ground out gets a man to third, at least.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted March 1 Author Posted March 1 (edited) Yonatan Henriquez singles in the winning run! Go crazy folks, go crazy! I don't believe what I just saw! Edited March 1 by Cowtipper
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Yonny Hernandez flew out. It was the next batter, Yonatan Henriquez, who had the game-winning hit.Yonny Hernandez and Yonatan Henriquez may seem similar but you can tell them apart because only Yonatan is an AMERICAN HERO.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted March 1 Author Posted March 1 I was so excited by this tectonic event that I said the wrong name, but it has been fixed.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Suero did hit a homer earlier in the game. Rootin’ for my homie and adoptee.Later
Fman99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Watched the last 2/3 of this game with my son. We enjoyed the walk off win.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted March 2 Posted March 2 I've been very bad at watching Spring Training so far , caught a few innings last week and that's it
