You need to download more RAM.

Explaining how to do that would prove most interesting.

Proxy Error

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.

The proxy server could not handle the request

Reason: Error reading from remote server

Additionally, a 502 Bad Gateway error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Don't want to sound like a broken record, or a complainer , but it has become increasingly difficult to post here , and indeed enjoy the posts at all

An update. I'm not sure how much faith to put in any of this, but I'll just report what I've been told.

This site has, for quite a few years now, been hosted by a company called JustHost. They were recently acquired by a company called BlueHost, and that may be what triggered things going so badly.

Until this week, however, I was still able to access the tools on the JustHost server. Now it forces me to a BlueHost login, and from there I can't even get to the files or the database. So even if I wanted to migrate to a different host (and it's definitely being considered!) I can't get access to anything.

They tell me that there's an issue with the migration. Something about database cross references. I couldn't get a clear explanation. But they're working on the issue. ("Rest assured," they tell me.) The "Too Many Requests" errors, they say, are because of database pointers that need to be resolved. I opened a case on Tuesday and was told it would take 48 hours to resolve. I checked in today, and they're asking for another 48 hours. Needless to say, I'm not filled with confidence. I guess that if the issues get resolved and things look good, we'll stay where we are. And if not, I can start looking for an alternative once I get access to the files and database once again. Migrating to a new host is more of a project than I care to take on, but if I have to I'll get to it when I can.

And that's where we're at.

I have a number of irons in the fire with all these companies and

it can be quite dizzying at times. eHost, JustHost, BlueHost; and now

I've heard there's an iHost on the horizon, 'Powered by Network Solutions'

which has been around forever but never had anything to do with the others.

I called JustHost last week about something and ended up talking to someone

from BlueHost and I told them I really need to speak with someone at eHost and

they told me eHost is no longer in business. I said, "I just paid eHost $20x a few

days ago so it's obviously not completely closed." Fifteen seconds of dead air. I

finally said are you still there and she said yes and asked if there was anything

else she could do for me.

Maddening.

Cripes.

They all sound like crooks

Right, not criminally so but it's definitely a shifty business.

I daily frequent The Sons of Sam Horn. I've never participated but

have been visiting there for more than two decades.

They run phpBB as well and there is never an issue.

I noticed this on the bottom of the index page, maybe

something to look into or inquire of the admins there how

they keep their board annoying-robot-rodent free?

Hi, Benjamin! I’m Ashwij and I’ll be assisting you today.

I recognize how important it is to get this issue fixed. I’ll look into the reason right away!

I appreciate your patience. I am checking on the escalated issue. I will be back with the update for you.

I appreciate your patience. As I checked with the higher team, they are still working on the issue. Once they resolve this issue they will update you via email. I understand how important it is to get the account up and running and you situation right now as it is not available since few days. I have added the priority for this case so that they will resolve this as soon as possible.

I have added the highest priority for this case for you.

Thank you. I would like to think that if somebody focused on this issue it would be resolved pretty quickly. I sense that even though the priority is escalated it's still being ignored.

I completely understand your concern and even me in that place think the same. But this issuie is been escalated to higher case again recently and they are working on that issue. Addittionally I have added the highest priority and rest assured this issue will be resolved as soon as possible.

I guess I just have to wait. I am not getting a very good first impression about BlueHost.

I apologize it took more then expected time frame and go through this issue I hope you will get the email as soon as possible.

As of this morning, I see that the account access issue I've been having has finally been resolved. According to the vague explanation I received from customer service, the migration of the databases that run this forum and the UMDB were only partially migrated. The data itself was migrated, but there were some other steps that they were having issues with that caused the slowness and the occasional error messages (such as "Too Many Users") that we've been seeing.

Now, if all the loose ends have been tied up, the issues should stop occurring. Or so I've been told. Time will tell if this is actually the case. I'm providing this update with hope, but not with confidence.
