We just left IMAX , wow , an amazing achievement, brilliantly acted, amazing score ,the tension built and built , three hours flew by.

If you are going to see it then try for IMAX 70mm

It was filmed to be seen in IMAX but there are only a handful of theaters in the country (i think i heard <20) which are equipped to show it that way.

You know what , you are correct and Regel New Roc is confusing as they list this movie in IMAX 70mm , but it's not ,I believe I saw it in IMAX 2D or straight 70mm film on a IMAX screen ...either way it was worth it.

Saw it at the 70mm IMAX last night. It was LOUD, I feel like I just walked out of a Dinosaur Jr. concert. Ears were ringing, but it wasn't from the dialogue, which was sometimes hard to make out over the rumbling and crackling, which is pretty constant.

That was big, bombastic movie (pun yall). Great performances, and a bunch of Oscar noms coming, I'm sure.

I will say the third act ended up feeling like a bit of a restart after the bomb is built and the war is over and the focus shifts to the politics and back-stabbing behind revoking Oppenheimer's clearance. I think the movie regained most of that momentum and I liked getting that chapter of his story told, but it probably could've been an award-winning two-hour summer blockbuster just the same if it ended with him conflicted and miserable after WWII ends.

Around New Mexico, there have been lots of people displeased that the movie neglected to talk about the families who lived near the Trinity site who were given no hints at all what was happening and of course were ravaged by cancer and other health problems. I don't think they needed to include that to make you realize the best interests of innocents and civilians were never at the forefront of the government's plans, but one shot of a confused farmer when the bomb went off could've at least reminded people that the Trinity site wasn't Mars or anything, people lived there.

TL:DR long, loud, great, not perfect flick.

Yeah man , I agree , I kind of wish they delved more into the science behind it all too .

My 12 year old grandson saw it with his mom, and I haven't asked her yet how he took to the sex scenes. But she had said he liked the movie for the science, and I can see how he would.

I saw it in a regular theater, no I MAX. And I think the sound was perfect. And the way it was used makes me think it should be up for an Oscar in sound editing.

The script was tight, telling the complete story the author felt had to be told.

If I look at my watch during the movie, it may be too long. But I never did that during this one.

An overlong movie can kill the enjoyment, but I never felt that way in this one.

But "too long" is different for everybody. No need to duck. It's your opinion.

I just rewatched this morning , certainly still great on second watch , and the acting excellent, deserving of the various gongs it got at the Oscars
