A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2023 Posted July 11, 2023 At 6:16 PM Eastern on July 11, 2023, we welcomed Kellum Clark to the family when he was selected with the last pick (20th round, 606th overall) by the Mets in this year's draft. He's a healthy, bouncing 22-year old boy, weighing in at a whopping 205 pounds and a rangy 76 inches (6' 4" for the rest of you). He's a Mississippi boy through and through, hailing from Brandon, Mississippi and repping Brandon High School before moving on to Mississippi State. Even his name Kellum sounds especially southern to this westerner's ears. He's an outfielder who throws with his right hand and bats lefty (like Jacob deGrom and probably some other dudes that I can't think of). In 3 years at Miss State, he hit .270/.376/.540 with 30 bombs. At 22, I imagine he'll sign quickly and will be pushed pretty hard to escape the low minors and eventually win an MVP like these other low draft picks. Fun fact: Kellum joins a decently long list of MSU alums drafted by the Mets - Jake Mangum, JT Ginn, Rowdey Jordan, Jett Williams, and this year's #1 pick, Colin Houck, who'd committed to MSU. Wow, fun! Here's Kellum before he swaps that burgundy for some blue and orange:
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2023 Author Posted July 11, 2023 Other Mets who threw right and batted left that I just thought of:WheelerSyndergaardMaybe Kellum should pitch.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted August 11, 2023 Author Posted August 11, 2023 I missed this - my dude signed officially. Dig that strange, corporatized Mets logo behind him. Someone alert Paul Lukas NOW!!!! [TWEET] [/TWEET]
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2023 Author Posted August 25, 2023 The Mets last pick in the 2023 draft already got his first promotion. Kellum put up a cool .885 OPS in the rookie league for the affiliate whose name I just learned is the ridiculous Florida Complex League Mets. Thankfully he plays now for the single A St. Lucie Mets, which sounds like a real baseball team.

Someone alert Paul Lukas NOW!!!! [TWEET] [/TWEET] I see that "VISION" is one of their "VALUES". And I guess "VISION" and "VALUES" are part of their "MISSION".
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted August 25, 2023 Author Posted August 25, 2023 They should've left the acronym METS and gone with "Motivate" "Envision" "Strength" "Trust" or some ****.

A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2024 Author Posted March 12, 2024 I finally got a Google alert for my guy Kellum Clark and it was this hilarious moment with a foggy-brained Keith and our own pop star José Iglesias
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 Gosh, Keith needs neurological workup, STAT.As for this spring, the number-on-front is certainly less prominent, wrapped around the left side of the ribcage.
A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2024 Author Posted March 12, 2024 Gosh, Keith needs neurological workup, STAT.As for this spring, the number-on-front is certainly less prominent, wrapped around the left side of the ribcage. Uni Watch has it. --> https://uni-watch.com/2024/03/12/keith-hernandez-forgets-key-element-of-mets-uniform-which-he-wore/Yeah look at the Keith pics. In one shot, the number starts under the "e" in Mets, very centered, and in the next one it's under the "t". Nowadays it starts at the "s" and is way the hell over on the ribs. I wonder why it's pushed so far over?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 12, 2024 Posted March 12, 2024 Perhaps the goofiest part is that Keith wore a number on the front of his uniform as a Cardinal too. AND as an Indian.I guess there's some version of a uniform he wore without a number on the front, but it was more or less a constant throughout his MLB career.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2025 Posted May 4, 2025 The Mets released Clark on November 19, 2024.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2025 Posted September 30, 2025 Clark dominated in indy ball this year, hitting .377/.471/.628 with 12 home runs and 70 RBI in 58 games for the Rocky Mountain Vibes.
Elian Pena St. Lucie Mets - A SS In St. Lucie's Wednesday doubleheader, the 18-year-old shortstop went 3-for-7 with a walk and his 7th and 8th doubles. He's hitting .346/.460/.481 (.941). Also 8 steals in 9 attempts. Explore Elian Pena News >
