Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 16 Posted August 16 'Crash' Christian Scott faces Jake Irwin in a 1:40 start Irwin is a 29 y/o Righty whose 5.79 ERA / 1.32 WHIP pretty much mirrors the numbers from his four year ML career overall. Mets got to him for 3 runs on 6 hits in 4 innings back in May. That was the game where the Mets won by scoring 10 runs in the 12th inning (back when we were averaging about 10 runs a week) to eke out a 16 - 7 victory. Irwin pitched one game after that before missing all of June & July. This will be his third game since returning but the first three did not go well (12 Runs in 13 innings). Currently 4.5 out of 4th place!!!

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16 Posted August 16 We've got Jorge Polanco, after a big hit late in yesterday's game getting the call again this afternoon. We've got Luis Robert, Jr. making his debut in left. We've got a well rested Jack Weisenburger. If that's not a formula for success, I don't know what is. Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16 Posted August 16 A perfect first for Scottie. It would be nice if Carson Benge didn't have to smash into a fence to keep it perfect, but that's the way it went down.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16 Posted August 16 A 2-0 deficit is not the plan. Dammit, Abimelic.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 16 Author Posted August 16 Luis Torrential ... amirite folks?
Radar Old-Timey Member Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Not high average guy but clutch hitter for sure. And so good behind the plate.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 16 Author Posted August 16 Three Nats runners have scored today (so far): guys who were put on via a walk, via a HBP, and via a walk.

My bad on this one. Only one of the walk/HBP runners scored in the 2nd inning and the walk in the 7th scored as well. The middle of the three WAS runs came via a solo HR
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Always nice to see Senga cover first and walk away in one piece.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 16 Author Posted August 16 Helps to have a 1st baseman who doesn't break the Senga.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 16 Posted August 16 Kodai the Kloser is no longer an experiment, but is kind of a thing.
