There isn't much to get excited about this season, but Nolan McLean has quietly established himself as a rotation piece.

I'm paying attention. Did my bike ride this morning and the British Open golf finished up just  as the top of the 1st was starting.

Mets not only have a non-solo HR in this game but they've failed to hit into a single DP despite numerous chances to do so.

In addition to the Mets 5 - 0 led, Luis Torrens has a 3 - 0 lead on HP ump Felix Neon: three challenges, three overturns. Luis is playing the bully by picking on the rookie.

The announcers have been talking for a while about Lindor being in a hole, but he has seemed mostly fine to me compared to some others.  He just hasn't been getting the ball dropping in.

What an amazing series of things went down in about three seconds in that Rincones non-catch.

I was half expecting an umpire to say that he did catch it with the ball coming loose on impact, after the catch

Ridiculous I guess

McLean is just getting stronger as the game progresses.

I have no expectation that he'll reach 100 pitches, though — or even necessarily approach it.

Ewing not scoring on the infield out is noted in the booth as a teachable moment, but I think it's Tim Leiper rather than Ewing that needed teaching.

The booth has since moved toward the suggestion that Leiper — and inexperience in general — is probably the issue.

You have to like McLean and Scott going into 2027. Zack Thornton also

Zach Crotchfelt is what keeps me going.

I'm more concerned for how aggressively the Mets go to that bullpen.

Every spot in the lineup has at least one hit — and four with two or more — except Semien.

And Semien goes down chasing a pitch 18 inches out of the zone with the bags packed.

The Mets may end up dealing a pitcher to the Phils before leaving town.

Sham Mets 2 - 1. First winning road series in six weeks.

They still somehow managed to turn 14 hits (11 singles) + 7 walks into just six runs (3/14 w/RiSP) ... but we can't expect to solve all these problems in just one weekend.

Looks like I missed a good one.

It would be a huge positive if we can end this season with McLean, Scott and Thornton pitching well.
