Are the Mets going to be more than 15 games under .500 at the end of June? Good lord.

Wasn't Scott on the IL with "impingement"?

Someone will have to be dropped to make room for him.

Alvarez is sure getting yo-yo'ed up and down this lineup.  Mets up against a lefty and he's batting last.

Also against a lefty, Young and Baty are in the lineup but Waggy is watching from the dugout.

I'm not sure Lindor batting cleanup was the mark I wanted to see Green but on this team, but at least he's out there two days in a row.

We're off and running. Crash Christian K's Trea T to start the game.

Home Whites held hostage: Day # (I don't even know)

K - BB - K - 1B - FO ... so not the cleanest of 1st innings, but a scoreless one.

This kid behind home plate has a #3 HIT A HOMER FOR ME! sign.

When Benge isn't up, he turns it over and it says THE COMEBACK BEGINS.

That's a believer.

More two out runs. That's three of the four the Phils have scored in this series.

MLB pitching as a whole allows 37.4% of runs with two outs. NYM pitchers give up 43.8% of their runs w/2 outs.

i tried looking up the percentage their total runs the Mets have scored with 2 outs this season, but Google AI said that is not a statistic that is regularly tracked.  Further, digging with ChatGPT, stated the Mets have scored 311 runs with 121 being with 2 outs, which is 38.9%.

Surprisingly, slightly better than league average.

Yeah, that's what I have too.  The issue with the NYM offense isn't when they score their runs but the run total itself. Their runs scored per 0 outs, 1 out, and 2 outs and consistent with MLB avg.

But the pitching skews higher with two outs which means they're ALMOST getting out of innings without further damage but  too often don't. During the last PHI series several of those 3R & GS homers came w/2 out.  So just a couple of 2-out ABs converted into outs could have cut their runs against significantly.

Andy Green likes to yank starters also

80+ pitches to get thru just 4-plus and dangerous LHBs coming up [Schwarber/Harper] ... it was the right move IMO and Minter's been gold since. retiring four of five with only the bloop single.

That's the Mets second four-run inning in their last 12 games which goes back to the start of the series vs Cincy. The other came in the lone win v the Reds when they won 9-1. Of course they only occasionally scored four in a game during that stretch.
