The Detroit Skubals* [7-2/3, 1 R, 3 H, 3 BB, 14 K] scored one in the 1st and one in the 7th to beat the Guardians 2-1 earlier today.

Just nine total hits in the game, eight of them singles.

Cleveland was 'DFL' (as some like to put it) in the AL in runs scored this year -- and actually scored fewer than they gave up (-6) -- so they, like that

other playoff team from Ohio, will need to win games with scores like this in order to advance in the post-season.

Guardians break open the tie in the home 8th: HR - 2B - 2B for a 3-1 lead.

Still batting w/runners on 2nd & 3rd

Cleveland had only four hits yesterday and just two today prior to the 8th.
