Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 (edited) Jacob Young tries to rob Juan Soto. A valiant effort.https://pbs.twimg.com/media/G1SnXo0WoAA02qq?format=jpg&name=large>Young races back to the wall. Sees that he'll need some extra height. Kicks off the wall to propel himself upward. Only a peak male specimen at the height of his powers dares try such a maneuver.https://pbs.twimg.com/media/G1SnmCPW0AEQW0w?format=jpg&name=large>Young, pictured here at the peak of his jump. Ball not yet in the picture.https://pbs.twimg.com/media/G1SnvzqWUAA7-Gl?format=jpg&name=large>Our hero is back on the ground. Watching as the ball now enters the frame.https://pbs.twimg.com/media/G1Sn_weXEAAgqwv?format=jpg&name=large>The ball glances off the wall for a HR. Mere inches (I'd guess about 150 or so) from where his outstretched glove had been just moments ago. Edited September 20, 2025 by Guest
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 20, 2025 Posted September 20, 2025 Let us not overlook that we got a perfect inning by Helsley. And not a there-were-line-drives-everywhere-but-they-were-caught perfect inning. There was one liner but it was a two-out rip by James Wood, not Nasim Nuñez or anybody.
